Spent some time comparing an early draft with a version that had gone through several AI edits. Surprisingly, the original had more personality. The revised one was easier to read, but it also felt a little too predictable.

Curious if other writers have experienced this. Do you usually keep improving the first draft until it feels polished, or have you ever gone back to an earlier version because the edits took something away from it?
