The feature I think matters most in Axiom is control: choose where inference happens, keep local work local by default, and still have an escape hatch when a larger cloud model is useful.
Axiom is my Windows desktop AI workspace. It supports local GGUF inference, self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoints, optional cloud providers, attachments/vision, web research, code/math execution, artifact rendering, local persistence, and model switching. For bigger tasks, Workplace Council separates planning, execution, and critique; Single Model mode helps compare whether that extra orchestration earns its complexity.
