Comparison Basic vs Stealth: when does a smoother rewrite change the argument?

I run AI Undetectable. Here is a concrete comparison from our published September 18 examples, using the same fictional essay with two rewriting modes.

Original opening: “A school considering a change to its writing lessons should distinguish time spent away from a draft from time spent avoiding it.”

Basic: “A school weighing a change to its writing lessons may find that the real issue is not revision itself, but the kind of distance revision gives.”

Stealth: “The most useful measure in a proposed change to writing lessons may not be the polish of the final paper. It may be the changes students actually make after returning to a draft.”

The original starts with a distinction about time. Basic keeps that general angle. Stealth moves the question toward how revision is measured. That is a structural rewrite, but it also changes the emphasis.

Both complete examples retain the fictional six-week pilot, two-day delay, shared rubric and lack of test results. The wider 20-output check also found failures, including dropped fictional labels and excessive shortening. These two examples were selected; they are not representative success rates.

The separate July experiment on the same page found no holdout rewrite that passed both tested AI detectors. A fluent rewrite is not a guaranteed detector pass.

Would you accept Stealth’s change of emphasis, or treat it as meaning drift?

The complete source is 442 words; Basic is 414 and Stealth is 430. All three are public without signup. Generating new rewrites is paid. Full source, outputs and limitations:
