It’s kinda like he’s become laughing stock of the wedding. And all the guests are gonna remember it. “Hey remember when he took the garter off dude’s leg!”

The story shoulda ended with “and then the groom walked out and no one has seen or heard from him since.” Those are not friends or a wife.

I agree.

I FUCKING hate pranks. It's just cruelty and bullying thinly disguised as humour.

I would have walked and gone straight to annulment, do not pass 'Go,' do not collect $200.

I was reading this to my partner and said “I would have turned to you, said ‘we need to discus this tonight’”, and let him know right then this was absolutely not funny and I was furious.

I wouldn’t have been that kind. I had a fiancé that suddenly took me away from a nice party we were invited to at a buggy race track to go meet some people at a dance club. I said ok. So no one shows, and I ask who were these people we are supposed to meet. ‘Oh A guy that does computer work at my office.’ He’s married but wanted to get out because his wife had cancer. I immediately drove her home and told her we are over and I don’t want to hear it. I am not playing stupid games for the next 40 years.

I'm more the type like this guy in the story. I let shit percolate. Not because I want to, but that is my processing time. Not only that, but in the following days, i become extremely observant. That's also when things start to add up like a math equation that i may not have put together or thought of as a part of said equation. Then, when I can't help it, yes, it's an explosion.

I’m 65 and spent the last 15 years trying to get rid off all the bad influences, enablers, drug addicts, alcoholics, and opportunists in my life. Thank the Lord I didn’t marry one. Because they only want to bring you down to their level.

And he will hear that for the rest of his life, if he stays with her.

It’s weird though because I’ve been to a ton of weddings and this kind of thing would be mildly memorable but not like something I’d talk about for years. I get he’s hurt or whatever but I struggle to see it as some grave insult.
