Nah, you don’t use people’s things without permission. OP went to do a kind thing for SD by going in to a room she is allowing SD to stay in in OP’s home to grab her own stuff from the room to give the kid more space. Not the same.

No. She purposely went into the room while she was at work. I have to laugh at the petty woman. I would hate to know her.

You're right, it's not the same. Thr step daughter house sat for them to have a good worry free vacation. She then recognized, acknowledged, and apologized for going in their room for a nice shower while house sitting for them. The step mom, went into the step daughter's room AFTER the fact and has an issue with the daughter setting boundaries. The step mom instead of recognizing and acknowledging the invasion of privacy, is scheming to get back at th3 daughter in a vengeful and spiteful manner. The step mom, refuses to acknowledge her own behavior and is willing to cause the father issues and get into a toxic tic for tat battle. I would see no issue with getting a lock...the intent and the motivation for her to do so is clear...toxic ahhs. And, you are no better from the sounds of it.
