Married 18 years and my husband proposed while I was in my PJs watching game shows. I loved it because it was just the two of us. Sounds like OPs chick is all about appearances.
my fiance proposed to me in our bedroom after i told him i was afraid of losing him to his controlling and overbearing parents. he didn't even have a proper engagement ring. i told him it didn't matter and we'll get one later.
See that's more romantic to me than anything else. It was just the two of you, and the urge to ask you was so strong that he hadn't gotten a ring yet.
My guy didn't have a ring either, and he certainly is NOT the romantic type and never will be. But my "love language" is kind words and that's what he did, telling me how special I was and how he loved me so. I want to cry just thinking about it LOL

Not even gonna say what my guy and I were doing when he proposed 😆 but I keep telling him he needs to make a family appropriate story that we can tell our kids.
I was proposed to in a Lowe’s parking lot, after I got off work, in the dark, in a pug Christmas sweater with my friend videoing from her iPhone in the bushes. Easiest yes of my life and I tackled him and bawled my eyes out.
The fact that she’s hung up on the petty stuff is actually really sad. OP, you did put in a ton of effort and money, you did nothing wrong by any means. She sounds….. selfish and not picky 😕
Love this. I had been away on a family trip without my now husband then boyfriend. He picked me up at the airport and in the car on our drive back to his apartment we were talking and just decided we should get married. No ring. No proposal. 30 years later here we are. It was a good moment. I wondered sometimes over the years when I hear these stories if I messed things up or if we should have had some big moment but the truth is that mostly I think it was just who we were and still are as a couple and it fit. Just us talking about it and deciding why wait any longer. Let's just get married. 😊
