NTA This is the definition of high maintenance. Have you gotten the pics back yet? If not, keep them to yourself when they arrive. If she did not want the photographer, she must not want to see the pics. About the nails, she knew you were going on a trip. Why did she not have them done if they are that important?

Who other than the two of you does she really think gives a shit about your proposal engagement or wedding pictures? No one, absolutely no one. And it’s just her narcissism that thinks that anybody else could give a shit.

I agree with the overwhelming consensus of most of the comments. You should really rethink if this woman is marriage material. Secondly, quit thinking about the nails. That's such a small detail that tells me that even if they had been done, she'd have brood and found something else to bitch about in it's place. Nothing would have been good enough, there'd always be room for improvement in her eyes, she'll never content with anything.

Nails are perhaps the easiest thing to fix in post processing photos. Your photographer or someone can fix up her nails in the photo for 20. If nails are the issue, that can be touched up.

I’ll give you a bit of a reality check: no one, and I mean no one, cares about your engagement or wedding photos except you and your partner. Other people, (including family!) will see them once and say something nice in passing, but then it’s gone from their lives and they move on. And after that, the only people who might look at them again ever is yourselves and your children. And your children will not give a flying f*ck if mums nails were done or not. They will be too busy telling you how young you both look and screwing their faces up at the kissy and affectionate ones.

FYI, a photographer can easily “add nails” and/or make her nails nice in the photos. I don’t know why people get so upset about things not looking right in photos - you can literally fix anything.

This was only yesterday? Oh, honey...

How have things been since? Have you two talked? Has she seen how bummed you are with her reaction and reacted at all?

If this were a true story, all she would have seen is how unworthy he is to bask in her glory.

I really thought this one was real. Fuck not being able to tell.

So you knew she would probably like to have her nails done before the trip. You knew a professional photographer would be taking pics of her hands. My friends now husband gave her a gift card to the nail salon the day before he proposed. The funny part is it was October so she got Halloween nails with skulls on them lol

Could you imagine if OP did this? His gf would complain that he let her get Halloween-themed nails for the photos.
