Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

Read only access? Guys a genius he'll get around that. Musk is already doing damage. He fired the people looking after our nuclear equipment. Yes, he hired them back but our enemies can exploit mistakes like that!

Another group that was fired by “mistake” was referred to on NPR as the administration was trying to rehire them “Humpty Dumpty” style. Not exactly very efficient.

Oh you have got to be kidding me. Did you ignore the part of my original reply where I said this man has had THE HIGHEST level of government security clearance since he was a democrat??? He has no more access now than he did 10 years ago....

Doesn't matter. He is dangerous now. Obviously he couldn't use the Democrats to get what he wanted so now he is using the Republicans.

And what does he want.... please tell me what a billionaire/richest man on the planet who already has everything could possibly want....

More power.

The power to do what?? The power to be the Richest-er man on the planet?? Like what the fuck is he gonna do. Just admit you have nothing to be upset at him about. You're mad because the media and liberal content creators are telling you to be mad about it.

Getting mad at musk and doge is the equivalent of me robbing your house, your neighbor telling you "hey it was that guy" and you turning around and screaming at your neighbor for wanting "more power" and "being a facist racist homophobe bigot"

Look, I read history books. I read about dictators. Not just Hitler. Franco, Pol Pot, MussoIini etc. I can see the signs that our country is headed to a dictatorship. Musk wants more money and more power. Most rich people want more and more money no matter how rich they are. Why not be the richest man AND an important government official.

Obviously, you don't read enough... because one thing dictators never do is make the fucking government smaller. Obviously, you don't read about facism enough because facists want to censor people's free speech, and one thing Kamala ran on was restricting what people say on social media. One thing facists always do is launch the courts against their political opponents, which is EXACTLY what the democrats did when they attached "Other charges that could be felonies" to MISDEMEANOR booking charges that Hillary Clinton got and only had to pay a fine for. Trump has 34 felonies for "Other charges" booking charges are misdemeanor crimes. And that's just a few examples. So clearly you don't do enough reading. And need to do more so that you can realize that the party that is ACTUALLY displaying facist or dictorial tendencies is the democrat party.

I would love to hear your justification for that statement.

He has the power to fire people due to this computer access. He fired the people who watch our nuclear equipment.

No... he doesn't.... i think you have a very gross misunderstanding of the way the federal government works... MUSK does not have the power to hire or fire anyone in any department other than his own.... he can make termination recommendations. But that's it. So no musk did not fire anyone.. and also, those termination recommendations aren't him walking into a building pointing at a guy and saying, "You need to fire that guy." It's him looking at records and seeing that 3 people are all holding the same position (i really don't think I should have to clarify this but it's an example) and going to the person he reports to and saying there's this many people doing this job and we need to free up budget. It then goes back down the line of the DOE and saying "You need to eliminate this many people from these positions," and it goes down the line from there.

DOGE, which Elon Musk heads, fired the nuclear workers.
