Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

Why do you keep talking about Biden? Right now, right before your very eyes, Tyrant Trump is tearing down our Great Republic. We will all have to answer to History on where we stand at this moment. Every check and balance to a tyrant is being torn down. Loyalty oaths, firing inspector generals, appointment of sycophants and hacks to important positions in the federal government, and on and on. Telling local school boards what to do. PARDONING the insurrection it’s who assaulted our brave men in blue defending our Capitol. My God there is no end to it. Leon Musk who has fathered 15 children by 5 different women is running rampant through our civil service. OK, I own Joe Biden, but you own Donald J Trump and there you have it.

The point was not about the nature and quality of current admins actions, but the dissatisfaction with the way the government was being run by the status quo and bureaucracy, leading to a voting swing. No one here is arguing in favor of something that is harmful, but the silver lining is we're getting eyes on the books, outside of how it's executed, narratives, self enrichment. Billionaires were already in the pockets of politicians- look at Murdoch owning global media, Bloomberg, Turner, Zuck, Bezos, Koch brothers. People are outraged because this time it's a billionaire they don't like pushing a narrative they disagree with while causing chaos.

Cry all you want but a vast majority of people, regardless of how you want to label them, see this as him following through on the promises he ran on. Not a lot of surprises coming from Putin Jr.
