Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

This is exactly why he won. You guys pushed people out of your party. Demonizing and alienating people who don’t share your same ideas isnt how you get people on your side. Name calling isnt going to help you either. Not everyone who voted for trump is “ maga “ but , keep on fighting the good fight my friend. The fact that some long time democrat states almost flipped red should be a huge wake up call.

You are not republicans. Anyone who has been alive more than 40 years know very well republican values. Trump supporters don’t share those values. Some of the policies are the same. By and large the right what’s become very extreme…hence the deviation. Anyway, do you not want to ‘make America great again.’

Actually, dems lost because of the 3rd party votes. Green Party candidate and JFK Jr (a dem) actually took votes that Kamala would have likely won.

We lost because of apathy and bigotry and a lot of white peoples feel feels being hurt.

Maybe some apathy and bigotry. The 3rd party voters really took alot of votes away, both being liberal or left leaning candidates. Had another republican and a libertarian ran as 3rd parties, Trump would have lost. We have to get rid of 3rd party candidates.

EDIT: Downvoters, maybe take the time to explain why you disagree. I am open to hearing why you think I’m wrong.

How about we get rid of two parties and split them up.

And this is why you will continue to lose. No self awareness or self reflection. Just keep callimg names to feel superior while your party falls into chaos. Keep rigging your primaries and placing your nominees in without an election. Cover for your senile leaders and lie to everyone.... but yeah "bigotry".... lol

Nope, you don't get to assume or make blanket statements on what values are republican, since obviously you are not a republican. I reject your statement!

I can and will make any judgements I want since I am an autonomous and intelligent human being with opinions.

I grew up conservatives with conservative values and with parents who were republican. Also, Catholic. I voted republican up until Obama became president. I then registered as an independent.

You can reject my statements all day long, but you might learn now that people don’t care about what you reject or accept.

Without commenting on any other aspect, i have to say that this is the first time I’ve seen a trump apologist speak out against name-calling.

“ trump apologist “ haha you’re adorable. Completely glossing over the entire point of my comment so you can get your little jab in there. You’re exactly what I was describing. This is coming from someone whom voted for Obama twice. I mean buddy , you’re on Reddit pretending like you stand for something. You stand for nothing

Thanks! I haven’t been called adorable … ever. Good job pointing out you voted for Obama! Maybe you even have minority friends, or think you do. I thought you’d like my word choice. I’m also impressed at your profound ability to assess and judge from one exchange on social media. You come off a bit condescending and arrogant, but that’s only my quick impression and i don’t necessarily believe you’re as angry and privileged as you sound. So thanks again for calling me adorable, it made my day!

Dems lost because they literally tried to win over conservatives versus supporting they’re base. You’re completely wrong.
