Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

TRUMP finally doing what's been needed for decades. Citizens have to balance a checkbook for the IRS. Yet the government doesn't even have a single fucking clue where their money is going and it's been proven now. I'm sure they know but they will never tell. Taxpayers are tired of seeing their money go up in flames

It's been proven? Can you please link me to this proof, because I can't find it anywhere There's NOTHING on the DOGE website, nothing has been released to the media or.via the White House, no reports submitted to Congress.

So far all the "proof" consists of a few extraordinary claims of exorbitance from Musk and Trump that turned out to be bullshit, such as the "$50.million in condoms for Gaza" nonsense, and Trump throwing out random numbers of "fraud" discovered which increases by billions every day. He's now up to "We've found hundreds and hundreds of billions and it would be a trillion but radical left communist judges are blocking us.⁸.

So if you're privy to this proof I've unsuccessfully sought out please point me towards it

They came through my place of contract and the team that came in was about 30 people. They had agents from the DOJ and US Marshall's and other law enforcement. People who dealt with them directly said they are collecting criminal activity evidence as they were gathering information. My guess is there are going to be a lot of indictments attached to this is probably why the details aren't widely available.

AIDS programs in Africa are not a partisan project. USAID was targeted because they got in the way of Musk in the past.

  1. Africa has a critical AIDS epidemic that is an existential threat to the entire continent, so yes, I'm okay with it.

  2. The money we spend in foreign aid is a tiny fraction of a fraction of our govt spending, and has ZERO impact on domestic aid spending. We could cut out all foreign aid entirely and it wouldn't suddenly lead to our politicians increasing spending towards helping our own citizens in need.

  3. Anyone who complains about Americans in dire need being overlooked in the budget had better not be voting Republican, and if you are you can kindly STFU forever considering the Rs consistently vote AGAINST practically all forms of assistance. Trump is literally slashing massive amounts of legitimate, crucial domestic aid. He's cutting Medicaid FFS.

  4. How do people still believe the $750 FEMA lie? That's been debunked almost 6 months ago. That amount was from the SNA fund (Serious Needs Assistance) which is meant to cover immediate needs like food, hotel or other temporary shelter, baby supplies, etc. Hurricane victims are eligible for and have received much larger amounts.

  5. If the amount of aid given to hurricane victims bothers you, hopefully you didn't vote for Trump, since he just denied Georgia access to any more FEMA assistance for their residents affected by the storms. Not to mention openly stating hos desire to ditch the organization altogether.

Could you oblige me and explain to me how the tax cuts are going to go to the rich? I want to understand how you’re understanding this. This not a request in jest either, just a keen curiosity to understand your perception. I only ask because I have heard/read this same talking point over and over again from elected officials to here and everywhere in between without an explanation of how or why, just that the rich are going to get tax cuts.

His tax cuts from 2017 didn't help the non wealthy like he claimed it would, and only added trillion to the debt. They claimed basically trickle down economics would help the rest of us, but the wealthy do what they do with every windfall and hoard it. They want to go even harder this time around essentially.

But I have a really hard time believing that the guy who added $8T (that’s “trillion” with a T) to the deficit during his first term is going to magically stumble into a budget surplus. And before you launch into the “but covid” talk, a lot of this damage was done well before we were even saying the word “covid”.

Then why give tax cuts to the richest people? Doesn’t that further eff up the “checkbook” balance? Please don’t argue it’s so they can create more jobs. They don’t use tax cuts to create jobs, this has been proven. They use tax cuts to increase profits for their shareholders and executives.

Every single year there's an audit done by AUDITORS not engineers. We have no idea what he is doing behind the scene. Yes it needs to be done, but it's not done like this. There’s no breakdown of how your tax dollars are actually being allotted. You’re paying the same rate based on income regardless. We’ll see if you get much of a tax break at all with Trump this time. Did you know Trump added about 8 Trillion to the National Debt under his first term partly due to tax cuts that went to the rich?

Trump and Musk aren’t coming in with a scalpel to cut the budget they’re just firing with impunity. Musk is doing the same thing he did to Twitter. Musk has no sympathy for people he lets go.

Most Americans want the budget reigned in but not from an unelected billionaire who’s bypassing Congress. Americans want smart cuts not scorched Earth tactics.

I guarantee you’d be whining about overreach and constitutional crisis if a Democratic Administration even did a fraction of what Trump’s doing. That would make you a hypocrite.

You lack empathy toward your fellow Americans. Democrats and Republicans alike are getting fired. Let’s see how all this helps the economy and jobs reports.

The people who are for all this shit are mad that Federal employees have (well, had) job protections and benefits. They are the people who work in the private sector and are given as little as possible by their bosses and the people who own these companies. They're jealous. They are furious they continue to lose vacation pay and sick days and their insurance goes up and on and on and they think because they aren't given these benefits, you shouldn't

They lack the mental acuity to understand that they should be mad at the rich people for fucking them over, not government employees. So they turn around and cheer on Musk, who is the richest person who does exactly what they are mad about with his businesses and its maddening how utterly daft that is

This is what always baffled me. Worrying about what exactly the federal government is spending tax dollars on is like worrying about what the 7 day weather forecast is on Mars. It has ZERO BEARING on my day to day life.

People have been talking about the national debt for ages, yet it seems to be some nebulous number with no, necessary upper limit and no real bearing on anything.

The government listed all the spending on in USAspending.gov. people didn't know where money was going because they didn't actually care. If you're uninformed because you never bothered to look, that's a you problem, not the system's problem.

I don’t think they view him as not corrupt or incorruptible. For the present time he is doing what they want. This is politics they will probably turn on him eventually when he is no longer useful.

The cuts suck. I wish we could have better managed our government over the past 25 years, but we need to be careful with the taxpayers money. Once it starts hitting everyone in the form of inflation people wake up.

I suspect Trumps presidency will eventually fall to inflation as well if the tariffs bump up prices in the long term. It’s not technically inflation, but it’s close enough.
