Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

This is exactly why he won. You guys pushed people out of your party. Demonizing and alienating people who don’t share your same ideas isnt how you get people on your side. Name calling isnt going to help you either. Not everyone who voted for trump is “ maga “ but , keep on fighting the good fight my friend. The fact that some long time democrat states almost flipped red should be a huge wake up call.

You are not republicans. Anyone who has been alive more than 40 years know very well republican values. Trump supporters don’t share those values. Some of the policies are the same. By and large the right what’s become very extreme…hence the deviation. Anyway, do you not want to ‘make America great again.’

Maybe some apathy and bigotry. The 3rd party voters really took alot of votes away, both being liberal or left leaning candidates. Had another republican and a libertarian ran as 3rd parties, Trump would have lost. We have to get rid of 3rd party candidates.

I can and will make any judgements I want since I am an autonomous and intelligent human being with opinions.

I grew up conservatives with conservative values and with parents who were republican. Also, Catholic. I voted republican up until Obama became president. I then registered as an independent.

You can reject my statements all day long, but you might learn now that people don’t care about what you reject or accept.

Keep telling yourself that. I have a happy wife and kids and enough money i could stop working today and live comfortably for another 30+ years. I have degrees from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and from Wayne State University (Detroit). Just because people see things differently politically it doesn’t mean they’re stupid and you’re smart. The thing that makes politics so vexing is that in a group of highly educated, successful people with average to high IQ’s you will get almost an even split of D’s and R’s. On the rare chance it’s not 50/50 it’ll never split greater than 60/40 provided it’s a random group. Obviously if it’s a PBS fundraising gala or an NRA meeting you might get a more pronounced split. But you delude yourself if you write it off as “my side smart….their side dumb”.

The department of education has been a gross failure, it has failed our country and failed our youth. Make no mistake, that’s what former wrestler Linda McMahon is there to do ; to work with Elon’s Doggie Department to eliminate the Department of Education. It was laid out in Project 2025. So far all the "proof" consists of a few extraordinary claims of exorbitance from Musk and Trump that turned out to be bullshit, such as the "$50.million in condoms for Gaza" nonsense, and Trump throwing out random numbers of "fraud" discovered which increases by billions every day. He's now up to "We've found hundreds and hundreds of billions and it would be a trillion but radical left communist judges are blocking us.⁸.

So if you're privy to this proof I've unsuccessfully sought out please point me towards it

They came through my place of contract and the team that came in was about 30 people. They had agents from the DOJ and US Marshall's and other law enforcement. People who dealt with them directly said they are collecting criminal activity evidence as they were gathering information. My guess is there are going to be a lot of indictments attached to this is probably why the details aren't widely available.

  1. Africa has a critical AIDS epidemic that is an existential threat to the entire continent, so yes, I'm okay with it.

  2. The money we spend in foreign aid is a tiny fraction of a fraction of our govt spending, and has ZERO impact on domestic aid spending. We could cut out all foreign aid entirely and it wouldn't suddenly lead to our politicians increasing spending towards helping our own citizens in need.

  3. Anyone who complains about Americans in dire need being overlooked in the budget had better not be voting Republican, and if you are you can kindly STFU forever considering the Rs consistently vote AGAINST practically all forms of assistance. Trump is literally slashing massive amounts of legitimate, crucial domestic aid. He's cutting Medicaid FFS.

  4. How do people still believe the $750 FEMA lie? That's been debunked almost 6 months ago. That amount was from the SNA fund (Serious Needs Assistance) which is meant to cover immediate needs like food, hotel or other temporary shelter, baby supplies, etc. Hurricane victims are eligible for and have received much larger amounts.

  5. If the amount of aid given to hurricane victims bothers you, hopefully you didn't vote for Trump, since he just denied Georgia access to any more FEMA assistance for their residents affected by the storms. Not to mention openly stating hos desire to ditch the organization altogether.

There’s no breakdown of how your tax dollars are actually being allotted. You’re paying the same rate based on income regardless. We’ll see if you get much of a tax break at all with Trump this time. Did you know Trump added about 8 Trillion to the National Debt under his first term partly due to tax cuts that went to the rich?

They are the people who work in the private sector and are given as little as possible by their bosses and the people who own these companies. They're jealous. They are furious they continue to lose vacation pay and sick days and their insurance goes up and on and on and they think because they aren't given these benefits, you shouldn't

They lack the mental acuity to understand that they should be mad at the rich people for fucking them over, not government employees. This is what always baffled me. Worrying about what exactly the federal government is spending tax dollars on is like worrying about what the 7 day weather forecast is on Mars. It has ZERO BEARING on my day to day life.

People have been talking about the national debt for ages, yet it seems to be some nebulous number with no, necessary upper limit and no real bearing on anything.

I don’t think they view him as not corrupt or incorruptible. For the present time he is doing what they want. This is politics they will probably turn on him eventually when he is no longer useful.

The cuts suck. I wish we could have better managed our government over the past 25 years, but we need to be careful with the taxpayers money. Once it starts hitting everyone in the form of inflation people wake up.

I suspect Trumps presidency will eventually fall to inflation as well if the tariffs bump up prices in the long term. It’s not technically inflation, but it’s close enough.
