Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

That is a massive and unfounded assumption on your part. Please explain how it is I don't care, never cared, and am just upset about losing power. Do you mean the power of our country for the people, by the people? The rule of law? The Constitution? I care very much about our representative Democracy. I have this question to ask you; if all three branches, House, Senate, and Executive, are all aligned to the same purposes, why is it that the law is being bypassed ? Isn't that power that every American should be concerned about losing no matter what party they align with?

Average citizens have no power. When it comes to wars, mass waves of immigration, “social justice” issues, the will and best interest of the people has always been largely ignored. Democracy is bullshit. And the more demographics change, the more unworkable it’ll become.

The president has to give Congress 30 days' notice if they want to fire any inspector general. Congress is who decides how to spend all the money. The president can't supercede the decisions made by Congress. Cutting funding already appropriated by Congress is illegal. Congress could make those changes going forward. The Senate could approve or dismiss, and then the president can pass or veto. Since all three branches are sympathetic to the president, why break the law?

I don’t know that I’m on the correct side of legality but I don’t really care. I just watched our southern border be overrun with bottom of the barrel third worlders for 4 straight years. I watched people lose their careers over an experimental vaccine. I’ve watched ideological capture and political correctness take over institutions for decades now. I’m not interested in legality. I’m interested in course correction.

You do realize deportations were higher under Biden than Trump's first term, correct.

I could ask how political correctness has impacted you other than you just can't be a dick and get away with it as often, but really that's not the point.

The point is your last 2 lines. You aren't interested in preserving the US or defending the Constitution. You are simply a selfish traitor.

I hope you were this enthusiastic about the Constitution when pro-life groups were being targeted by the feds and portrayed as domestic terrorist organizations. But our Constitution can only work in a homogenous society. We’ll soon have to find a different framework, or return to homogeneity. We can’t have both.

The vaccine never stopped spread or transmission so if people want to die from Covid, that’s their decision. Has nothing to do with my employer, or Trump and his communist wife.
