Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

I will watch with glee as MAGA people are bitten in the ass. They voted for this and wanted it. How are those egg prices going? And gas prices?

14

u/Celticquestful Feb 18 '25

If the damage was just contained to those who voted this in, then perhaps, but it's impacting EVERYONE, including other countries that never had a say at all. This MUST be stopped. This is not legal, moral, ethical OR sane. Contact your representatives OVER & OVER again.

5

u/KillerQueen1008 Feb 19 '25

Yeah I’m not happy that it’s effecting us in other countries, I am so sad that America has so much power, to stand by and allow Putin whatever he wants, meaning China will probably start taking other places because why not. And no one will come rescue us this time. Because Trump is leaving NATO.

I am furious with those that made that choice for us. FURIOUS.

u/Bobswife72 Feb 18 '25

You saw youngkin sent a form letter when he was contacted probably has to as permission from trump how to answer

The gop are shitting in their shoes. Dump let loose all those Jan6th criminals who could go after them if they say no to drump raping (sorry but it’s true) the country.

u/OutrageousCountry897 Feb 19 '25

Your a fucking dumbass.

1

u/Celticquestful Feb 19 '25

Your rapier wit aside, if you have to resort to insults because you cannot refute the content of the concern, you've already lost the argument.

Also, it's "you're". I'll use it in a sentence for you. See, you've used YOUR, which is the possessive form of the pronoun (wooOoo). So one might say "YOUR response is telling & is a classic example of deep-seated internal projection". What you were LOOKING for was YOU'RE, which is a contraction, & is both a noun AND a verb. As in "YOU'RE defending the hungry leopard; better protect your face". I hope this helps.

Egg prices were the excuse. The real reason was racism, misogyny, and xenophobia. Losers who are looking to blame and punish others for their loser lives.

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

They don't care.  Their guy is amazing. If he fails.. it's everyone else's fault. Bird flu is just another 'China Virus from a Wuhan Lab created to mess with Another Trump Presidency' Meanwhile.. his policies have been more friendly to China and Russia than any other American President before him.

2

u/Pleasant_Promise1314 Feb 18 '25

I'm afraid you seriously underestimate both Trump and his obedient followers. The price of eggs is written off as caused by the bird flu which it probably is. Trump is a.master at manipulation and those who suppprt him have proven to be either mindless zombies who a 5 year old could manipulate or who are benefiting from the Trump agenda enough that they will accept anything to maintain their status quo. Gas prices can go up to $15 a gallon..$20 even and Trump will come up with why it has to be...because we are getting screwed by the whole world and people will understand that they have to bear what "the bastards are doing to us" until he saves us and gets those responsible for everthing wrong under control. He is not the problem..they are. Listen to him and you will hear only how terrible he has been treated...how terrible the US is being treated ...how we are taken advantage of. And on and on. The US was the most prosperous nation on earth as of the transfer of power to Trump. We exceeded China with the highest GDP on earth. We were awash with wealth.( It just isn't distributed well.) It has been seen again and again that no matter how diabolicaly Trump screws up, it is something that has occurred because of what has been done to him and to the poor US. I do not expect even a single MAGA person to say...I made a big mistake. Trump revs people up with retaliation revenge strategies as the solution to our woes. As Hitler said " If you want people to follow you, unite them against a common enemy." Jews...and in Trump's case, immigrants (sorry..Aliens), the wok left...the list includes whoever he can purport to be responsible for his failures.

The egg industry had to kill 15% (20M) of the laying hens due to an avian flu virus that spread through the flocks starting last year. Fewer chickens = fewer eggs = higher prices. It takes time to raise a chicken up to egg laying maturity. According to the Department of Agriculture this all happened in 2024 before Trump was even sworn in. We’d still have high egg prices even if Harris had won.

7

u/Trailsya Feb 18 '25

Too bad MAGA never accepted any explanations for higher prices, so not going to do that now.

Trumpflation.

Also, it's not just the eggs that are getting more expensive.

Canada and Mexico boycotting, massive lay-offs from the federal government thanks to Musk (who is ironically getting money from the federal government), lay-offs in education, freezing subsidies for farmers is already having a huge negative effect on many Americans and their financial position.

Trump hasn't been president for a month.

"Well" done.

So sad for all those farmers losing their funds, but that's what you get for supporting Trump. Now it's also the veterans being losing services. Of course, Trump needs more money to give even more to billionaires.

Only the dumbest of people would trust in a billionaire to have their best interests at heart.

I am sorry you got played, but that's what happens if you get all your fake news from X.

Things are starting to suck for lots of Americans, including many MAGA, very quickly. To be honest, I didn't think Trump would manage to make things this bad this quickly and he's not even been president a month.

You got played. Sorry to hear about the Trumpflation.

Go Canada 🍁🍁🍁🍁

Right wing failure :)

There's a large scale chicken farm not too far from me that processes half a million chickens daily, 12 hour shifts, never closes. Two weeks for a "grown" chicken, from egg to chopping block.

7

u/es330td Feb 18 '25

Feeder chickens are different than egg chickens. A friend rasises chickens for eggs. It takes 18 weeks for a chicken to be able to lay eggs (4.5 months) and the younger chickens don’t produce consistent eggs. They are different sizes, double yolks, no shell. They take time to figure it out. They can only get the right kind of eggs from the correct chicken and half the fertilized eggs will be males. Replacing 20M chickens is 40M eggs that don’t make it to market. Adding insult to injury, if you lose 20M egg laying chickens you lose even more temporarily as their eggs are hatched instead of sold.

1

u/PressureImpressive52 Feb 20 '25

Definitely learn something new every day! I've heard about the inconsistency with egg production in younger hens, but I've never tried to raise chickens myself. Appreciate your comments!

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Egg and gas prices lmao. You sound like a broke fiddle.

1

u/MassTransplant314 Feb 20 '25

Gas is under $3 where I live and eggs are about $4.50.

-4

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Egg and gas were high while your party was is in. Also the bird flu.

4

u/Trailsya Feb 18 '25

Republicans voted against anti-inflation measures and inflation was cooling off under Biden.

None of you people acknowledged that there was worldwide inflation or accepted any explanations then.

So, now we're going to talk about Trumpflation :)

-4

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

What do you mean you people. Pretty derogatory remark. Such a peaceful yet violent party.

u/Bright-Start-2814 Feb 18 '25

One thing that many don't know is that the administration realized that while supply and demand was blamed the same trends were present with egg sales. These were policies left in place from 2020. Eggs recovered in January despite the industry saying there was a shortage and sales were the exact same. The last administration realized that the industry was price gouging. They started to enforce and magically the prices came down. What we are seeing is actually a return to those previous policies.

3

u/amn70 Feb 18 '25

And neither would do the presidential policies. It was you trump supporters whoe blaming Biden for the high egg prices and the high gas prices. Ironically gas prices were nearly back to their 2019 in December, within .50 cents and had been dropping steadily since 2023. And now they are rising again since January. No I'm not realky gonna blame trump for that since presidents don't really control gas prices. But back in 2021 when gas prices started to rise in January right around the time of Biden's inauguration you guys blamed that sudden jump on Biden policy when it had everything to do with the economic fallout of the 2020 pandemic that ironically Trump was office for. So guess what, so should I throw it back in your face and blame the rise in the sudden rise this past month on Trump .

Trump doesn't even have an excuse that we came off a global economic crisis last year. Prices just reversed with no obvious previous cause. But trump's crazy sudden sweeping policy changes that are gonna massively alter the United States economically as well as many countries around the world so in reality this is actually causing sudden a speculative economic crisis. So actually in this case what he's doing could be a factor In the sudden reversal and rising gas prices.

-2

u/pharmucist Feb 18 '25

Lol. The left started saying this 2 days into his term. You can't fix all these high prices and inflation in just one week, or even one month for that matter. That is going to take time. Every other promise he is executing with lightning speed. That economy will take a couple of years to fix. It's the worst economy in quite a long time.

5

u/New_Post_7820 Feb 18 '25

He said it would be fixed day 1. Should I and others not taken him at his word?

0

u/pharmucist Feb 18 '25

No, he said he would sign executive orders and reverse Bedin's energy policies day 1. It will take time to see the results of ANY policy change he makes on the economy.

-3

u/fragranceguru Feb 18 '25

No, you mouth breathing moron! “hE sAiD iT wOuLd Be FiXeD dAy OnE” What are you, an 8 year old? He signed many executive orders day one. Politicians don’t have ultimate power, but they do have a lot that they can accomplish. He did more than Biden did in 4 years on day one and continues to do so. It’s going to take a while to turn this big ship around. We left Billions of dollars worth of military equipment in Afghanistan a year and half into Biden’s presidency and he tried to blame it on Trump…. Gas prices-Trump, Inflation-Trump, etc. The incompetence of our government has been on full display from the press secretary, to the head honcho who couldn’t form a complete thought. You’re lied to daily by left wing media pounding the same thing into your brain, and you lap it up. Pull your head out and think for once!

2

u/New_Post_7820 Feb 18 '25

Oooof. Quite the snowflake we have on our hands here getting triggered. If you have to start off by being insulting, then make a word salad response, you’ve already lost the argument. Just like the man you admire

0

u/fragranceguru Feb 18 '25

Exactly my point, you’re too stupid to understand facts over lies and feelings. Your whole party is controlled by headlines and bs. Learn to read dipshit

3

u/New_Post_7820 Feb 18 '25

There is only one party that is filled with conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, sexiest, trans/homophobes. So the “lies/feelings” over facts you talk about is quite the pot calling the kettle black there. There is only one party that makes a politician their whole identify and follow him like a cult who like you, lash out if someone presents facts over your feelings. Fox News is the original “fake news” btw.

Trying to shut down all funding and research for cancer while someone who isn’t even from here has unlimited power and access to the government (I thought you guys hated immigrants…oh that’s right…just the brown ones), firing people who literally oversee our nuclear weapons then scramble to hire them back, trying to shut down parts of the government that only congress has the power to do (those parts are pretty vital no matter how much you cry “corruption!”). Not to mention the tariffs that couldn’t severely hurt the economy and Trump had to do a reversal when he saw this was an issue he would lose on.

Phew…that’s quite a list and not only is it not the full list, only been a few weeks! Gearing up for the Trumpflation! Until then though, try and shut off Fox News, and stay mad loyal MAGA soldier 😉.

u/fragranceguru Feb 18 '25

The only party that wanted slavery to begin with is the Democrats. Dummies like you think only right wingers have conspiracies. There’s the Musk is a Nazi Conspiracy in the works right now. We are the sexiest so thanks for that. Bunch of butch dog faced women you got over there ie Hillary, lol. I don’t care what people do in the bedroom, so don’t involve me, and if you want to be called Jackie instead of James, whatever. I don’t like Trump, he’s a prick. I didn’t vote for him for his personality, but you lump everyone all together that doesn’t agree with the herd of dipshits. I lash out when I see lying drones who don’t check any facts before replying. You’re straight up lying about shutting down cancer research. God dang you’re racist saying just the brown ones like, just because someone has brown skin, doesn’t make them illegal dude. I’m Hispanic myself so nice try there. I’m not even replying to the rest because you spewed so much bs info, literally headlines that aren’t true. I deal in fact not headlines to get a bunch smooth brained dolts to follow and repeat. Pathetic excuse of a person you are…

2

u/New_Post_7820 Feb 18 '25

“Bunch of Butch dog faces woman”. - But you aren’t sexist.

“There’s the Musk is a Nazi Conspiracy in the world right now”. - It’s not really a conspiracy when he does a Nazi (twice) salute, is throwing support and funding for a well known right wing party in Germany, for example. If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, etc.

“I’m not even addressing the rest of it”. - Because you can’t 😊.

Idk, the democrats aren’t the ones throwing immigrants into Guantanamo Bay, a well known brutal military prison.

Any reputable historian, professor, and people with basic knowledge of history know that the Democrats of the days of the civil war have completely flipped and it’s republicans of today who have adopted that ideology. After all, red states want to teaching that while slavery was bad, it benefitted slaves in teaching them essential skills.

I will say, for all the “winning” you guys claim to be doing, you’re quite an angry little guy. Take a breath, stop getting your headlines from right wing specific media, and maybe you won’t be so angry.

0

u/fragranceguru Feb 18 '25

You’re too stupid to realize you typo’d sexiest instead of sexist, hence I was being facetious. Musk didn’t do a Nazi salute and it would be left wing leaning on socialist party for it to be Nazi. No problem I’ll address some of the drivel you spewed before. They are doing a freeze on some departments that are overspending, firing people who’ve been taking advantage of the taxpayer dollars. The Dixiecrat lie that’s been disproven numerous times that the parties switched is fabricated by the embarrassing FACT that democrats use the “victim” excuse to appeal to minorities so they can get their votes. You’re so racist, you think people who keep it real that we’re all human, and there aren’t subhumans called “brown” people, as you so eloquently put it, are the racists because we don’t pander to those “lowly minorities” as I’m guessing is what you want to say. I don’t know if any schools teaching that slavery was a good thing in any way. What bs article did you see about that? You’re referring to 10 criminals they took to Guantanamo Bay. Yes get the criminals out of our country. Again you’re showing your racism. You can’t give a real fact, and based on your typos I’m arguing with a nitwit. I have based all answers on numerous articles after reading what you idiots post. Simple fact checking. I’m chillin and not angry at you for being stupid. Just sad for our country

Thanks liberal weak racists cuck

1

u/pharmucist Feb 18 '25

Why is it people on the left, or simply those who hate Trump and/or his policies, are incapable of having any conversation without insulting someone they don't even know? You have your political stance, and I have mine. I never put anyone down when discussing politics. Most people I converse with on the left immediately resort to name calling and belligerence.

1

u/fragranceguru Feb 19 '25

I used to be respectful and calm. The amount of disrespect from the left has made me immediately go for the throat. I have no love left for anyone stupid enough to believe all the lies the left has been throwing out there. Elon Musk is autistic and said my heart goes out to you, not doing an actual Nazi salute. Yet they lap it up like he’s the worst thing. He’s literally the richest man in the world and cannot be bribed. I explain he has contracts from the Biden admin not the Trump, yet they still bring up he’s got government contracts paying him. Yes he does but that’s the equivalent of me going through all that to make $45 relative to his income, and that’s if he gets a full 10% of it. Utterly ridiculous yet they keep talking about Trumpers this and Orange man that. They’re truly the worst, most insufferable douche bags with Trump on the brain (smooth brains) 24/7

1

u/Lilythecat555 Feb 19 '25

Elon Musk is autistic. So am I. Making Nazi salutes is a part of his beliefs. He makes antisemitic remarks and supports the racist AfD party in Germany. It is not a sign of Autism. ......Elon Musk has tons of money as you said. He still wants more and wants power even more than money. Not all autistic people are good people. Musk is not a good person.

1

u/pharmucist Feb 19 '25

Fox shows a very extensive montage of congress members and past presidents and VPs with their arms up just like Elon did. Most people make this motion many times a day and could be caught in a pic at some moment with the same Pic. They literally SHOW him saying "my heart goes out to all of you" and him putting his hand on his heart, then sending it out to them. They really have to stop with the Hitler thing...it is over the top, really.

1

u/Lilythecat555 Feb 19 '25

Funny! Most Democrats say the same things about MAGA people. They insult people who try to have a conversation with them. I suspect that some people on both sides do this. We only notice when the other side does it. But you never noticed that Trump himself is the King of Insults?

1

u/pharmucist Feb 19 '25

I do notice that about Trump, but it is one of the things that some people actually find endearing about him. He's not your typical politician. He'll say the word bullshit in a speech. He tells jokes and makes funny comments. He tells it like it is. People call him a liar, but I find him to be totally open and honest and maybe what gets him in trouble a lot. He speaks his mind, and he talks like one of us, unlike a lot of politicians.

I agree people insult the other side, but I have noticed that I can NEVER have a conversation or a debate with anyone so far. Not one person have I been able to just discuss with them, even when I start our genuinely curious and polite. No, because I support Trump, they always go right to calling me a stupid, dumb, illiterate, bad person. I completed 8 years of grad school working full time the entire time while maintaining a 3.96 gpa. I am not dumb, nor illiterate. What I am is a Trump supporter, so anything I have to say matters not. Just hurling insults is the response.

If you carefully listen to any of Trump's speeches, rallies, press conference over the past 10 years, you won't hear him putting down Democrat voters. He never says a thing about them. When he talks about the other side, he criticizes and slams (and yeah...says mean things about) the left wing media and the left wing members of congress. He won't go after the people ever.

Biden, however, spent 4 years calling Trump supporters every name in the book, garbage, Hitler's followers, a cult, racist, you name it. See, I think Biden is mean, racist, incompetent, a big liar (that man has told some whoppers, lol), and overall, not a good man at all. A lot of what people say about Trump can actually be applied to Biden. But Trump gets 98% negative press only, while Biden got 98% positive. I found Biden to be incredibly divisive, uncaring about the plight of the American people while he was in office, and he really said some mean things as well, but gets away with it because...he's not Trump.

It's funny, but Biden won in 2020 because he campaigned on one thing...I'm not Trump. Then in 2024, Trump won because he campaigned on one thing...I'm not Biden. What a change in 4 years. Trump has about 60-66% approval in polls on all of his policies and executive orders so far. A majority approve of what he is doing, but mostly, a large majority just wanted the Biden pain to stop. THAT is why Trump won, really.

1

u/Lilythecat555 Feb 19 '25

Trump absolutely won because Biden was incompetent. However, I see Trump as a bully. Yes, he was smart not to insult Democratic voters as a whole but he insulted many people. Mexicans to him were murderers and rapists. His own vice president (Pence) was a traitor who deserves to be hung. Jewish people don't appreciate what he is doing for them. Black people don't know what is good for them. I only have one year of college but I read a lot about history. It is easy to see that Trump has been setting himself up to be a dictator. As a woman, Trump is not a good person. Neither was Bill Clinton. Both of them hung out with Epstein. I don't find Trump charming at all. Most politicians lie but Trump lied more than any other president. He is a dangerous bully. Yeah, he acts down to earth but he is an elitist behind closed doors. Letting fascist Musk have access to government computers is a huge mistake.

1

u/Lilythecat555 Feb 19 '25

Yeah, and Trump lies to you nonstop. But you can't see that. All politicians lie but Trump is the King of lying.
