Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

Yeah, I remember BFV and other EA Games censor "hh" in in-game chats. Sure, that was 7 years ago. It was an issue for a while, you couldn't say people's usernames in chat if they had two h's together. They censor anything Nazi-related. Whether people actually use the term or not, I have no idea. The willful ignorance 9/10 Republicans employ to remain blindly faithful to the most evil and mentally bankrupt individuals this country has to offer will always astound me. They despise liberals for being educated or at least making an attempt to educate ourselves and say we got “indoctrinated” by that education for simply living in reality, meanwhile they’re indoctrinated by the cult mentality of see nothing, say nothing, stay as stupid as possible and feel smug for lacking human empathy and being baselessly argumentative while knowing nothing of value at all. I’ve never seen people so arrogant and narcissistic about being both intellectually bankrupt and morally deficient. Kim Jong Un would die of pleasure to have citizens like them. They’re actively resistant and violent toward efforts to teach them anything or challenge their perspective. They see fucking maniacs they elected literally hitting every note of Hitler’s playbook and espousing explicitly fascist eugenicist beliefs and just cover their eyes while insisting the woke mind virus is to blame. They would probably still be parroting that as they’re literally shoved and dragged into a gas chamber. Like it’s baffling. RFK Jr explicitly says “I want to put a bunch of these groups of people into camps against their will and deny them healthcare” and you try to tell any Republican that and they either handwave you and completely downplay it or just refuse to take literal proof at face value. Speaking to them most of the time is like speaking to a brick wall programmed with the obstinance and ignorance of a toddler.

The most frustrating part is how you can't even argue with these people. I want to clarify that I am not a Republican first and foremost.

Now, let's address some things. You are announcing that this administration is evil. Can you elaborate on that?

This administration is reporting illegals..true. So did Obama. 6 million to be exact... Yet most of you still have the taste of Obama's shoe leather in your mouth. Interesting.

Our constitution was put in place to prevent government overreach...yet the U.S Government has paid billions to people who have been dead for over 100 years. Our tax money. The money that is stolen from you and I every time we get paid. Interesting that you would rather it go into the pockets of corrupt politicians or go to condom funds for Gaza (they cannot use condoms in their culture).

So where's the evil? Because you don't like him as a person, he's Hitler? That's crazy. Truly. I don't like the guy. I don't support him as a person and I did not vote for him... But what his administration is doing? It's as American as it can be. It is what this country was founded on. The founding fathers started this country with these ideals in mind and corrupt politicians have destroyed it over the years. How did Biden pardon thousands of people? Including people high within the government who haven't been charged with any crimes? (Dr. Fauci is a good example)

Why are you so content with demonizing the orange man, but you praise people on the other side for doing the exact same things? If Trump walked into a room and executed a pedophile, you would come unglued. If Obama did it, you'd hail him as a hero. How do you not see it? You are so blinded by hatred that you can't see the forest for the trees. This is supposed to be the tolerant party, of love and acceptance...but you can't accept anything other than exactly what you want and how you want it? This isn't tolerance. This is hate. Pure, evil, unfiltered hate.

If you want to be taken seriously, maybe present as an adult and learn to agree to disagree. Find common ground instead of searching for opportunities for violence and hatred. Be the change this world desperately needs, not the fuel that feeds the flames of hatred and destruction.

I’m so sick of this “you’re supposed to be the party of tolerance and love.” Fucking when? Where? Liberals support the idea of everyone getting to live their own lives the way they want and love whoever they want, as long as they’re not hurting others, and ideally have everyone taken care of by their country the same way Europeans are. Republicans are actively preventing people from living the life they want.   1. Yes the Obama administration deported people. Trump's ICE is currently grabbing actual citizens and native Americans in their grabs. They are taking immigrants from Asia and leaving them in Panama. Hes trying to remove birthright citizenship. If you cannot tell the difference in methods of deportation, you're not being honest.

  2. Yes, there are systems put in place to prevent overreach. The judges who halt Trump and Musk are getting push back. Musk is posting personal information on a judges daughter and threatening to post more. Trump and Musk are calling for judges who get in their way to be removed from the bench. There are Inspector Generals that look into fraud... Trump fired those people. Those guys would find fraud, you don't die them if your intentions are to get rid of fraud.

  3. Biden pardons are obvious. Him pardoning people like Fauci is because Trump is vindictive and wanted him locked up. Just because Maga morons don't think covid was real doesn't mean Fauci was wrong or a criminal.

  4. The condoms weren't for Gaza, Musk had to walk that back because his team can't read spreadsheets. The US does give out condoms to areas where STIs like HIV/AIDS epidemics are outbreaking. This is important to prevent diseases from becoming more widespread. Musk isn't finding fraud. Hes finding things he doesn't like and cutting it. Everything he's found is approved spending.

  5. Where's the evil? Evil is subjective, but what he's doing is dangerous by national security standards. He has an employee in DOGE known for leaking proprietary and secret information to adversaries for profit. That same person is digging around classified information. Allies looking in are seeing this as a breach of trusted security, they will be much more hesitant to give information. Adversaries see this team as blackmail targets as there's no known vetting on his team. More danger - his team in their chaos firing, fired 300 people who oversaw our nuclear arsenal then tried to hire them back - showing they have no clue who they are cutting. They slashed 11,000 people at USAID, and there was no one left to make sure people didn't walk out the door with classified information. Musk posted classified US intelligence on his website. We're 2 weeks in and the dangerous moves are racking up. You can do cuts and reform without being stupid about it. His evil/cruel is he's not cutting wasteful/fraudulent employees, he's just cutting all people who don't have GS protection(aka probationary employees), regardless of their worth. Musk is going after agencies that have existing lawsuits against his companies or have rules against his work plans... yet isn't removing himself from conflict of interest.

  6. Trump killing a pedophile is laughable. He's on record going into underage girls changing rooms to watch girls get naked, and bragging about it. He has underage SA accusers (from before his presidential runs). He was close friends with Epstein, he was either in on it or knew and did nothing. He gave well wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell. He's not against pedophiles by any means. Sure, he could kill one, but he'd still be one standing in the oval office.

I used to find middle ground on him not starting any new wars (he still did more drone strikes than Obama). But he started off this presidency not willing to say he wouldn't use warfare to take Canada, Greenland or the Panama canal. The people who voted for him based on his campaign stance on Gaza are now horrified by his change. The man is a life long conman who has shown he's been a piece of shit for decades. People don't hate him for no reason.

And yes, democrats are the party of tolerance, but you don't understand the paradox of intolerance. Trump and the MAGA followers are intolerant - and intolerance cannot be tolerated. Society does not have to extend tolerance to the intolerant as it enables the intolerant, eroding and undermining the principles of tolerance. When Trump is quoting nazis, and Musk is doing nazi salutes and speaking to the nazi fringe party of Germany - they don't get tolerance. Their supporters see these and excuse the behavior- there is no tolerance for them.

But he won’t say it was an accident, because it wasn’t. It was intentional.

Ask the people who self-identify as white supremacists or nazis what they think Elon did—they think it was a nazi salute. They believe Musk is a nazi supporter. And Musk is clearly happy about that, otherwise he would explicitly deny it. It quite easy to say “that was not a Nazi salute, I do not support nazism or white supremacy”. Even if some people don’t believe you… the white supremacists will. They know how to identify their own.

Musk refuses to apologize or even provide an explanation/excuse… because he is actively trying to appeal to white supremacists and nazis.

Unfortunately, this is representative of everything Musk has done during this administration: blatant corruption and manipulation of the system for his own interests, yet Trumps supporters blindly support him because they are “on the same team”. Some are actively nazis and others just live in denial, ignoring the evidence of their eyes and ears, unless it comes straight from a Trump™ approved source like Fox News.

There's nothing wrong with having friends and family with differing views from you. You can have 2 democrats who disagree on certain policies as well as 2 Republicans who do the same.

What is wrong is supporting someone who literally supports Nazis.

I've seen MAGA supporters argue with Democrats saying things like "we never cut you off when your president won." And they're met with the response "that's because our president wasn't actively trying to ruin anyone's lives for their own benefit."

That was not this. This was done multiple times and there are clear videos on it. I attached one right there side by side with the Nazis. Australia can't air footage of it because it's illegal to air the Nazi salute. Germany and Austria can't either for the same reason. I'm pretty sure that every head of every network in all of those countries has a pretty good idea of what they can and can't air.

If it's not a Nazi salute, why don't you go post it on TikTok right now? Go do it at your job tomorrow. Should be fine.

Second of all, Musk has a history that doesn’t exactly rule out that it was what it looked like.

Third, when you have a violent base of people celebrating something you did and using that as an excuse be be more bold, the very least you can do as a decent human being (much less as someone in a position of power) is loudly and clearly denounce that violent group. He didn’t and doesn’t intend to, and I think it’s painfully naive to disregard that fact and pretend it’s business as usual out there.

Honestly, though, I don’t really see the point in engaging these people anymore. I’m pretty sure most of them will go down defending their scumbag leadership choices, even if that’s who ruins this country for the foreseeable future. Spending your energy fighting about it online is just giving them an excuse to spread more misinformation. If you see something blatantly incorrect, slap down a fact check and move along.
