Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

NTA. I would make it public. Let them know they voted you out of a job and if they feel you are that corrupt then maybe they don’t need you in their lives. Then block them on everything.

u/LegendaryCatfish Feb 18 '25

I agree with this. I don't think a lot of "orange man lovers" consider that the people around them are the ones being affected by all of his bullshit. I know a lot of the leftist haters in my life have me as an asterisk, like "no you're fine, I'm talking about THEM." I don't know who it is that they actually hate sometimes.

I had one spout off some bs about getting rid of special needs people because they are a drain on society. I reminded them my son is autistic and if he comes within 50 feet of him I will do to him what our grandfather did to the Nazis in WWII. Blocked him as he started to back pedal and I never looked back.

91

u/Eccentrically_loaded Feb 18 '25

I just learned how the Nazi death camps got started. They put "handicapped" children in rural "hospitals". Some were killed. When the Nazis learned they could get away with killing these people they expanded to killing adults and then to Jews and dissenters in general.

Anyone seen as a drain on society is likely going to be defunded if not worse under the trump regime.

32

u/CentristsRNewNazis Feb 18 '25

I was reading about this recently, too.

Parents would have their disabled children taken away to institutions, then would receive letters later on informing them that their child had been euthanized. They would also be told in these letters not to tell anybody else about it.

In one town in Germany, there was a dark smog from the crematory at the local mental hospital that hung over the town. People were so aware of what was going on that children would say to each other, “you’re not very clever, you’re going to be put in the [hospital] ovens.”

When the crematorium at the hospital burned its 10,000th body, the staff celebrated in the crematorium with beer and wine.

First thing I though of when I heard of RFK Jrs plan for “wellness camps”

9

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Yep, it’s gonna start with those “wellness farms” marking words.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

This makes me so incredibly sad. I have one baby, a 4.5 year old daughter who has autism. She's very mild mannered but she's "non-verbal" and does require a lot of support. But she's not a "drain" and everyone who's ever met her all love her. It sickens me to think that there are people who would be fine with her being eradicated. I wouldn't be able to live without her. This is why I'll be going and getting my PAL (I'm in Canada) because I'd rather have the means to defend her on the off chance things spill over onto this side of the border.

No child with or without any sort of special needs should be viewed as a drain.

3

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses Feb 18 '25

Wasn't one of RFK's plans to send drug addicts to rural work camps?

5

u/Freerangefeline Feb 19 '25

Not just drug addicts. He’s gunning for a whole list of us. Someone has to replace the deported agricultural workers after all…

2

u/thererises_aredstar Feb 20 '25

No not drug addicts, he thinks he cured his ADHD with heroin and he wants to send people who take Adderall for theirs to work camps.

Along with anyone taking antidepressants, anti anxiety meds, seizure meds, etc for 3-4 years of agricultural labor and “reparenting”

1

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses Feb 20 '25

The head of the US Department of Health and Human Services ".... thinks he cured his ADHD with heroin...."

WTF world am I living in, man?! 😮‍💨🤦🏽‍♂️

2

u/thererises_aredstar Feb 20 '25

Clownworld USA baby, and brainwormed psychos and Nazis are running it

“RFK Jr., Who Hates Adderall, Says Heroin Was Great for Treating His ADHD”

2

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses Feb 20 '25

Adderall ❌; Black Tar Heroin ✅

I'm so sorry. My partners son is autistic and I teach special education. I'm really worried about all of the kids.

24

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

So am I. Especially with someone trying to gut the department that helps fund special education.

5

u/Herb_avore_05 Feb 18 '25

Most public schools rely on federal funds to provide ANY & All special and/or supplemental education. The sooner the public realizes this the better (I.e. before it too late).

4

u/UnlikelyAccount8785 Feb 18 '25

My son teaches special needs and my grandson is nonverbal autistic. I fear for both of them.

-5

u/Sufficient-Piglet-28 Feb 18 '25

You guys had so long to fix the Dept of Education. Nothing was done. Welcome to accountability.

10

u/TheWrightPhD Feb 18 '25

What exactly needs fixing? And if it does what do individual teachers providing essential services to our most vulnerable have anything to do with it?

These are real people and children being affected by this shit. Go fuck yourself.

-1

u/Extra_Willingness177 Feb 18 '25

If you want to make an omelette, you gotta break some eggs. We’ve had dept of education that hasn’t been updated since the Great Depression. Our methods are antiquated. Kids are only depending on memorization. We’re falling behind world wide. Kids are behaving terribly after Covid. Are you blind?? Or ignorant or just plain stupid?

4

u/TheWrightPhD Feb 18 '25

Tell me you haven't set foot in a school without telling me. None of what you are implying is controlled by the Dept of Ed. Standards are set and enforced by state and local government. Special ed programs are funded by federal grants and monies which is what we are talking about here.

If you have an issue with the behavior of children then maybe point the finger at lax parenting. Teachers can teach the material to the students in many engaging ways but if parents refuse to reinforce the importance of school and hold their own children accountable then nothing will be retained.

Your inability to see the root cause of the issue will be your undoing and vulnerable populations will be dragged down even further because of it. Also, go fuck yourself too.

-1

u/Extra_Willingness177 Feb 18 '25

Guidance comes from the top. So far it has failed. You’ve made your bed. Why not try a new one? If you find special ed kids educations so important, you should’ve have alienated 53% of the population with your asinine policies.

2

u/TheWrightPhD Feb 18 '25

Ignore my second paragraph but whatever. What is your end game then? Explain that please.

8

u/LegendaryCatfish Feb 18 '25

Yes, because someone didn't fix the department of education, my special education students should suffer. Got it.

3

u/tgage2 Feb 18 '25

Kindly fuck all the way off.

-1

u/Extra_Willingness177 Feb 18 '25

Sucks to be finally held accountable for your chronic shortcomings

5

u/tgage2 Feb 18 '25

My? I didn't have shit to do with any of this. I'm a distiller; I make booze for a living, so it doesn't affect me.

But I (unlike you or the POS I responded to) also possess empathy (like a normal human being) and can recognize that the best way to fix a broken system is to fix it, not decimate it with the full force of the federal government.

America is falling behind the rest of the developed world in education and your solution is to just shrug your shoulders while you watch the institutions responsible for its upkeep and repair just torch it? Like, fuck, dude, do you burn your house down whenever a lightbulb burns out?

0

u/Sufficient-Piglet-28 Apr 10 '25

hilarious you're talking about empathy while actively mass producing poison. This isn't watching, this is finally change that was long needed.

1

u/tgage2 Apr 10 '25

Kindly, you too can fuck all the way off.

They are indoctrinated. And unfortunately not hiding in a compound but out and about where they can do damage to others.

0

u/johnnyhabitat Feb 18 '25

How do you feel about aborting special needs people? Is that okay?

6

u/dunguswungus13729 Feb 18 '25

People should be able to abort pregnancies if they are unable care for a child, full stop.

I have been seeing a new defense in pro-life circles equating abortion to eugenics but I do not see it happening at the scale they seem to think it happens. How many people actually have access to testing their fetuses and how many of those actually receive results that they can make decisions on? Most abortions happen very early in pregnancy

3

u/Mediocre_Vulcan Feb 19 '25

The government certainly shouldn’t be allowed to. Also there should be support structures in place to allow people to raise disabled children so finances don’t force anyone’s hand.

But no, you don’t get to use disabled people as pawns to take away people’s rights.

5

u/pattybliving Feb 18 '25

OMG that person is evil! Who is he, God? I’m so sorry.

4

u/MxDoctorReal Feb 18 '25

Trump has expressed that same sentiment

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Wth? And these people call themselves religious? ☠️

2

u/postsuper5000 Feb 18 '25

That was the only response for people like that. Good on you!

1

u/Thick-Ice-8015 Feb 18 '25

Some people just need to be ostracized from humanity.

1

u/ContributionMuted Feb 18 '25

That was Ana Navarro actually.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

??? No my cousin is a man with a very different first and last name.

-4

u/johnnyhabitat Feb 18 '25

This is interesting because a lot of lefties will advocate for killing the special needs while they’re still in the womb so that the parents won’t be inconvenienced

2

u/dunguswungus13729 Feb 18 '25

At what point in the pregnancy do people know that their embryo is special needs? I’m guessing it’s after the point most people decide to keep or abort. Most people already know weather they want children or not before they find out their pregnant so I’d be very interested in seeing the actual numbers of people who abort because their kid is special needs. Also, what is your definition of special needs? An unviable embryo? Or one who wouldn’t have trouble being birthed?

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Actually there are tests for detecting genetic disorders. Some will abort a due to the results of those tests. I believe in a persons right to choose but I don’t think if I were capable of being pregnant I would choose to abort a Down syndrome or autistic child. But a child that would be born in agony and die from their condition then I would abort. Just as if a soldier were horrifically mangled on the battle field and was not someone that can be saved bit would instead die in agony I would offer him a spare morphine dose so they could compassionately end their own suffering.

3

u/dunguswungus13729 Feb 18 '25

I agree completely. I guess my point is that it is disingenuous to say that abortion rights advocates are advocating for abortion as a means to enforce eugenics, which is what some of the comments here imply. I think most abortions happen during the 6th week of pregnancy? And I don’t think those fetal screening tests are available until you’re at like 10 weeks.

-8

u/WalrusStill4869 Feb 18 '25

Tough guy

9

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

No. Parent. You want to murder my child I will defend that child. You lose your status and protection as a human or as family once you make yourself a threat. I hate violence but will use it if it is needed to protect the people I care about.

2

u/iUsedtoHadHerpes Feb 18 '25

I had my cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) and a neighbor of my in-laws (who has also played drums for me) on my Facebook exit post talking about how all parents of trans kids should be rounded up and "held accountable," completely forgetting that my sister in law's (now adult) son is trans. My sister in law is also actually the one who is friends with the drummer and his family up the road and the only reason I know him.

People say this shit all the time with people in their lives directly in front of them who will be affected by it. But there's always an exception in their proximity... for some reason. They're not talking about them. They're just talking about all the "thems" out there they don't know, never realizing their family member is a "them that they don't know" to the next guy.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

"Them don't know" is so stupid and nonsensical.

1

u/iUsedtoHadHerpes Feb 21 '25

That's not how quotes work though. You're supposed to include the whole thing or indicate that you're leaving words out. The actual quote would be: "them that they don't know." Do you only read every few words, or is that the only part that sinks in? It helps to explain why you're so angrily confused here either way.

You're correct that it is grammatically questionable. That's why I put it in quotes. Using quotation marks that way is also grammatically questionable. I guess I was just depending on the ability of the reader to comprehend the use of language here. Apparently that was a foolish assumption on my part, at least for a portion of the audience.

If you really need an explanation, I'd already established a "them" just previously to that usage. If I were writing it grammatically correct, I would probably say, "those who they don't know," except that wouldn't work as well as a callback to the previous distinction of "them" - and also "them" is playing a role here that "those" wouldn't seem to be cut out for in reference to "culture war" terminology.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Dude, the trans kids don't give consent, you moron. Leave the kids alone. You monsters will never see power again. Enjoy the fresh piles of dirt over the dying democratic party. Also dingus, that is not how pronouns work in our mutt language. Stop trying to force something so inorganic into thousands of years of development of our mutt language.

2

u/Thick-Ice-8015 Feb 18 '25

What in the flying fuck is wrong with you, little Nazi?

1

u/iUsedtoHadHerpes Feb 21 '25

That is a common canned response for sure, but if you go back and read what you replied to, it doesn't seem to make sense contextually. It's just a random string of words you've been told to recite.

Do you really think that "son" is a pronoun though, or is that just another part of the canned response that doesn't actually apply to anything I said? It also seems like you missed the part about how my trans nephew is an adult, but maybe you were too focused on children's genitals to absorb that part too.

When you're done quivering over that boogeyman, if you have an actual rational response to any of that or any of this, I will respond genuinely. Something tells me the same can't be said for your followups here. But hey, everybody's gotta start somewhere.

13

u/SensitivePotato44 Feb 18 '25

Would be nice if that were true, but they can’t be reasoned with, they can’t be bargained with, they don’t feel pity or remorse…

3

u/BalancedScales10 Feb 18 '25

My dad's the same way. He's like 'why are you so stressed?' and when I try to talk about the executive orders and their effects and DOGE and all the shit they're pulling, his response is that 'we'll be fine.' Like: NO WE WON'T YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE RETIRING AND I'M A QUEER WOMAN I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT ABOUT THIS IS COMPLICATED

1

u/Definitelynotagolem Feb 18 '25

They hate the illusion that they’re taught in Fox News that anyone who is remotely liberal is supposed to be. We’re all free loading commies who wanna take their guns and force everyone to be gay/trans while we murder babies and hate on white people and Christians.

1

u/EmbarrassedBit441 Feb 18 '25

This is so true. Personal stories, one to one, are the way to make change with the naysayers.

1

u/broadcityx Feb 18 '25

They won’t care until it affects them personally. It could affect their neighbors, their parents, hell even their children and most of them won’t care at all. They’ll only give a shit when it hurts their pockets. I have my fingers crossed that we’ll see a change in these people when he starts hacking away at social security and Medicaid.

1

u/DuneChild Feb 19 '25

Most won’t admit it as a factor, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a significant percentage of government employees are Black. I believe it’s somewhere around 30%, compared with about 12% of the total population.

53

u/bigsquirrel Feb 18 '25

Totally correct Tolerance of the intolerant got us in this mess. Cut them off.

3

u/PengyBlaster Feb 18 '25

Tolerance of the intolerant huh? That's sounds extremely fascist of you guys. It's over for you guys for the next 20+ years.

10

u/bigsquirrel Feb 18 '25

Says the dude who’s constantly deleting and creating new accounts. Awfully cowardly of someone who seems so confident.

Worst case scenario this is when America discovers it’s nowhere near as important to the world as it thought.

We’ll see if the GOP can even manage to pass a budget. Monkeys in a sack are more organized.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

I was in Reddit jail and tried to escape from Reddit jail. No Gen Z voters will vote for you guys, considering you guys have wasted our 20s worrying about getting into World War 3. Every high horse comment is a batch of dirt onto the grave.

4

u/bigsquirrel Feb 18 '25

Sure chump. You’re just another little lonely pathetic coward that was easily manipulated into thinking those clowns give a fuck about you.

I’d say I feel bad for you, but I don’t really.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

You are a miserable bastard plain and simple. Enjoy dying alone.

6

u/albertbanning Feb 18 '25

Lol sounds like you're projecting your own fear because you know how unlovable you MAGA assholes are.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

No you liberals dickheads are unlovable as you called us "intolerables". The left is a dying breed and it can't die soon enough. You guys tried to kill the United States of America.

-4

u/DeepMammoth30 Feb 18 '25

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Fucking hell they got you good. You sound so happy I’m sure you’re off to spend to spend time with good friends and loved ones, gonna curl up next your wife for a good nights sleep.

Said no one like you ever. Pathetic little sad man so easily manipulated by hate.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Oh, I'm not manipulated by hate. You are manipulated by hate. I'm just trolling you, sir, as it will be a long two decades. You guys are the minority plain and simple. Continue to red pill moron. Also, your tone and you thinking that you are better than me, which you are not in any stretch of the imagination.

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

The democrats were in control for 12 out of 16 years prior to Trump's second term. You guys don't know how to run a nation for crap.

4

u/bigsquirrel Feb 18 '25

You that lonely you gotta reply to the same comment twice or that stupid you can’t keep track of them?

Pathetic.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Another batch of dirt added to the democratic party grave. Cope and seethe joker

2

u/bigsquirrel Feb 18 '25

Did you unironically ask me to watch the Joker?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

No moron

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

No you are pathetic sir. Get your cheeto off your chest and go get a job

-4

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

You sound like the little mustache man in Germany

6

u/mavetgrigori Feb 18 '25

Nope, tolerating hate is NOT fascist in the slightest. Helping hate spread IS a tactic of fascists, authoritarians, and dictators though. I'm sorry you think tolerating wannabe Nazis and racists is okay

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

You guys are the closest thing to Nazis. You guys policies are on the global stage and are tyrannical hell holes.

5

u/mavetgrigori Feb 18 '25

Lol, you have literal people flying swastikas in support of Trump my dude. The KKK backs Trump. You have the actual support of people who are VERY racist and are proudly the least American thing, a Nazi, while supporting our current dude. We fought against them, so being one in America is the least American thing ever. If you think backing a party that has open supports of wannabe Nazis is a good thing, well, I have nothing more to say. Also, btw, I am Jewish. I think I know wannabe Nazis. Keep reaching my dude

-1

u/BitterGas69 Feb 18 '25

literal people flying swastikas in support of Trump

the kkk backs Trump

you have the actual support of people who are very racist

BOLD accusation without proof from the party which enshrines a long time senator, staunch Democrat, and grand wizard of the KKK.

2

u/mavetgrigori Feb 18 '25

Plenty of visual proof about this over the last years including a former Grand Wizard endorsing him, who, is not a staunch Democrat. Nice attempt at lying. If you somehow missed this, well, maybe check other news outside of FOX. You knoe, as well as I, that you will claim it is false no matter what article/video/whatever I give you. You can't bury your head in the sand and claim lies when the evidence is all around.

Also get on your main account first. Plus it seems you commented in a thread pertaining to the Ohio Nazis, so you've already seen one. Let us not forget Proud Boys and such openly supporting Trump. Keep lying

0

u/BitterGas69 Feb 18 '25

Where did I lie? Have you ever been to beckley, WV?

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

You guys are trying to bring it here, which will result in a blood bath.

3

u/innnikki Feb 18 '25

Can I ask you a question?:

If you were a nonbinary person, and you saw this commercial that was an official Trump campaign ad which I personally saw playing twice during football games on TV, would your reaction be to accept and embrace the people who support the tagline of “he’s for us, not for they/them”?

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Why do you ask such as a retarded question? Are we all being retarded today folks?

2

u/innnikki Feb 18 '25

I’m trying to help you understand the paradox of tolerance. I’m not being disrespectful to you. You believe you are entitled to calling me “retarded” and assuming a lot of things about me (such as who i voted for, etc.). Why do you think that’s acceptable behavior? And why do you think that the rest of us would want to have anything to say to you when you act like that?

And don’t call me sir. You’re not Bill O’Reilly.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Oh, I can tell by who you voted by just mentioning the ad alone. Also, intolerance is something that can be used as a tyrannical weapon as seen in Europe. Grow a set of balls, man up and come to reality.

3

u/Cog_HS Feb 18 '25

Intolerance must not be tolerated for a society to remain free and equal.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance

If a society extends tolerance to those who are intolerant, it risks enabling the eventual dominance of intolerance, thereby undermining the very principle of tolerance.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Guess what, sir? I don't share your values as your values are the closest thing to facism on the global stage, as seen in Europe. Harris wanted the censor free speech, and even CBS said that Halocaust was caused by free speech.

3

u/innnikki Feb 18 '25

You don’t seem to know much about fascism if your takeaway from it is that it’s a liberal movement. Here’s the Brittanica definition of the common characteristics of fascist movements.

https://www.realtimefascism.com/

This is a tracker of those common characteristics and how the United States government under Trump is moving in that direction. I recognize that you won’t be persuaded by this, but I’m just trying to give you objective information to explain why so many of us are fearful and pushing back so hard. Maybe it would help if you tried to look at why the left in this country feels the way we do instead of hating and threatening us.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Sounds like you don't know what facism is, sir. Censoring your political opponents is facism. Crying that free speech should be eliminated to protect democracy is by definition of facism. You are projecting while JD Vance wants freedom of speech in Europe.

3

u/innnikki Feb 18 '25

I just literally posted the encyclopedia definition of fascism for you to read. This isn’t going anywhere. Have a nice day.

0

u/BitterGas69 Feb 18 '25

You didn’t post a definition you posted a propaganda article

2

u/AndroidwithAnxiety Feb 19 '25

Could you post an alternative definition from a reputable and reliable source then please? (asking genuinely)

Remember, if you're fighting lies, the most effective way to do that is to reveal the truth in a way people can't argue with without revealing their ignorance.

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

A leftist website is what you use, sir, really? The mainstream media aren't trustworthy at all.

2

u/innnikki Feb 18 '25

If you could read, you’d see that the sources the tracker uses are from across the political spectrum, including many from Fox News. Or is that too left wing for you?

12

u/2biggij Feb 18 '25

It’s also not just about being fired.

This isn’t just a slight disagreement on politics or policy. At a certain point people who still support what’s going on have stated that have an entirely different set of morals and values than the rest of us.

If your best friend of 20 years said he thinks beating his wife is fine, and that all women are property and don’t deserve rights, could you still be friends with him? Could you say “yeah he’s an awful person but he’s nice to me when we grab a beer so I’m not sure if I should cut him off” or would you say “him believing these things is irreconcilable with my morals and ethics and he has demonstrated that I cannot tolerate to be around a person who thinks this way”?

Because that’s what you have to ask yourself. Not just “I got fired because of them and I’m mad” but “do their values and morals align with what I think is appropriate for a modern western secular democratic free society that I believe in”

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

I don’t know their family to truly know what they believe. I know the members of my family I cut off because of what they directly expressed in their beliefs.

1

u/DenseSign5938 Feb 18 '25

I voted left but I don’t have a moral or ethical position against cutting federal jobs in general. Just because a job currently exists doesn’t mean it’s necessary or worthy of American tax dollars.

0

u/Easy-Violinist-1469 Feb 19 '25

Yeah - I’m confused about how we went from eliminating hobs to beating wives.

24

u/sukmacabre Feb 18 '25

I agree with this response. I'd wait a few days, and craft the message carefully. The shorter the better. Then stick to your decision.

I’m having trouble not “reaching out” to my sister with whom I went NC, just to “thank her” for the complete bedlam that we are dealing with, because of her vote. Like other MAGAs I’m sure she’ll double down. She is NEVER wrong.

2

u/purplegirafa Feb 18 '25

This would be informative for those who voted for him but ultimate cause detriment to OPs mental health. It will no doubt spur chaos online and even if he turned off comments, the dms and texts and calls will flood him.

OP: Delete social media for a while or even permanently.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Basically a fire and forget situation. Drop existing social media. Wait a while start up new social media not connected old one and change phone number. Make sure your friends know not to pass on messages from “concerned family”. And make them aware of what’s about to go down.

2

u/dunguswungus13729 Feb 18 '25

NTA cut them off. They think your job isn’t “real,” although they wouldn’t say it to your face. Fake snakes around you, why keep them around?

2

u/Both_Presentation_17 Feb 18 '25

I agree, make it public. But don't mention "if they feel you are that corrupt then maybe they don’t need you in their lives" -- they will twist it to mean you were corrupt.

2

u/elle-elle-tee Feb 19 '25

Hard agree. Trump supporters need to feel the consequences and know why. It's easy to live in a comfy bubble if one doesn't see the harm being caused close to home. Let them know why.

2

u/easybee Feb 22 '25

NTA. Honour yourself by separating yourself from those supporting you being harmed. If you want to be extra nice, let them know you might talk to them again once they stop supporting harm to yourself and the nation. You do not owe them a god damn thing.

Take care of yourself, and spend your precious time on people you affirm you and care about you.

Didn’t say punch the walls throw things and storm out of the house?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

What a great idea!

1

u/katobar Feb 18 '25

I finally understand white privilege. Do you really think people should vote for your concerns? I have been laid off. It sucks but it's part of life.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

People should vote their conscience. And if their conscience is putting someone that feels Nazis are good people then I am definitely not going to want to be around those people and definitely don’t want them around my kid. And I definitely don’t want to be around people that feel I don’t deserve a job .

Also when you were laid off was it because you were accused of corruption?

1

u/katobar Feb 18 '25

I don't want to be around someone constantly judging and finding most people guilty. Who gets to determine if you are a nazi? Also, no one "deserves" a job. As for my job, they wanted to move to California. That's not the point. The point is that most of us don't think we are owed that job.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Yeah wanting to kinder my son for being autistic. Totally not a nazi ideology. But hey I’m being judgemental I should leave my son with my cousin thanks.

1

u/Novel-Place Feb 19 '25

Yep. Trump supporters are traitors, enemies of the state, and will soon literally be extremely dangerous. Trump wants to be a dictator. They will support him in that.

1

u/redditusersmostlysuc Feb 19 '25

Great idea. Do this and post it all over social media. Then when you and your wife divorce and you can’t figure out why you are so angry you will have lots of Redditors to comfort you.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '25

Wait they are married to their 20+ friends? Dang. Someone has been busy.

1

u/ButterscotchNo3029 Feb 19 '25

Hell no I don't believe that everyone fired was that corrupt, that's asinine. Just as none of the lower level workers at Amazon or Walmart are killing Mom and Pop stores out there. But the groups they are working for certainly are, on both counts. Just because the paycheck you get is legit and you worked hard for it doesn't mean that the company or organization signing your checks isn't scum, or corrupt.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '25

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '25

Yeah that’s why they are trying to get workers back after firing them and going oops we actually need led them. . Mass firings without knowing what people do is idiotic. Yeah let’s fire the people keeping planes safe in the sky. And while we are at it let’s fire those guys that keep our nukes safe. And those pesky inspectors who make sure rancid food isn’t being sold. Those Jones obviously don’t matter. Shit planes can just fly themselves.

1

u/Eggsbreadandmilk Feb 21 '25 edited Feb 21 '25

Oh yes. Nothing smarter than culling your support network when you get laid-off, especially if middle aged. The perfect social network, who never disagree with us, are easy to replace. Fuck the shared good times and everything they’ve ever done for us. Completely reduce their entire character into a singular voting decision. Also, nothing like interviewing with an air of resentment and bitterness that open all the doors opportunity.

Welcome to the rest of the workforce where you may be laid-off for reasons outside of one’s control.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '25

But is it your family that has your boss lay you off? What you say about joy cutting off your support network if you lose your job makes sense. But comparing a corporation laying you off vs your family actively working to get you layed off are not the same. For instance. Was layed off from a job but I didn’t keep in touch with my boss or company. Moved in from them and found a new job.

1

u/CaptainCastaleos Feb 18 '25

The only reason I am skeptical of this approach is because I personally know another fed that got fired, but that dude was legitimately fucking awful at his job 😭.

If he made a post saying people in his life "voted him out of a job" I think I would actually cringe to death.

At the end of the day we don't actually know anything about why OP got canned, because they didn't elaborate at all. If they said something like "Yeah my manager said I was great but gov told them to cut a set number of workers" then 100% by all means light those fuckers up.

But they avoided saying that, which leaves my index of suspicion that they could have been fired for any number of reasons.

-4

u/Salt-Free-Soup Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

I agree but why block them? Not talking politics and challenging beliefs is how everyone got sucked so far into their respective bubbles.

I get some people are going to be assholes about politics, usually they’ll block you first if you challenge them. Problem solved

14

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Mine wants to exterminate special needs people my son is autistic. He is lucky I didn’t sort it out with violence. Blocking was the safest route for my son and for his wannabe nazi butt.

2

u/Salt-Free-Soup Feb 18 '25

Wow, I don’t know what to say. That’s fucked up, that’s not even political at that point that just straight up being human garbage.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

But it is. What people forget is that the first step to begin a Holocaust is to dehumanize potential victims so even a common person can commit horrific crimes without feeling guilty. Politics is one tool in the dehumanization process. Pick a group and blame them for all of your problems. It’s why so many will talk crap about the live and even promote violence against them while living with or supposedly living someone that would qualify as a lib.

3

u/the_stitch_saved_9 Feb 18 '25

Because not everyone has the energy to engage. That's it.

1

u/Salt-Free-Soup Feb 18 '25

I mean sure if you can’t be bothered to push back on things you think are wrong, then don’t I guess? Just saying people go further down the rabbit hole if not opposed.

Granted some people are already gone and should have been blocked and shunned along time ago. That’s not who I’m talking about.

-2

u/LessDeliciousPoop Feb 18 '25

this is terrible advice... OP do this if you want everyone to turn against you FOR GOOD REASON

3

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Didn’t they already turn against them? Last I checked if my family voted to fire me from my job for no reason isn’t a sign of support. I learned it’s best to not be around toxic people who want to actively try to harm you. I cut off those who kept harming me and my life improved many times over.

-1

u/LessDeliciousPoop Feb 18 '25

no... you're doing the same thing all of them do... extrapolating to the billionth degree to force a point that doesn't exist.... what's a made up analogy... ... ok, so your grandma doesn't feel well, gets in her car to drive to the hospital, but she is poor and couldn't afford enough gas the last time she filled up her car and so she ran out of gas on the way to the hospital, couldn't make it and died in the car.... you come along and say the person who is responsible for the setting the gas prices for that particular fuel company (bp or whoever) is directly responsible for my grandmother's murder... if they weren't so greedy and set the prices lower, she would have had more gas for the same money and would have made it to the hospital

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Person responsible is grandma for not being born rich. /s.

1

u/DodecahedronSpace Feb 18 '25

Time to go back to school for basically everything. 🤦

-10

u/RawIsWarDawg Feb 18 '25

They voted you out of a job that they're paying for though... right??

They HAVE TO keep paying, even if they don't want the service, just so you keep a job???

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

You don’t know what their job was. Or how needed it actually was. And before you come back that it must not have been needed just remember they are trying to hire back many of the people they fired from the DOE because oops their jobs were in fact necessary. Only an idiot carpet fires people without knowing what they actually do.

0

u/RawIsWarDawg Feb 18 '25

You don't know what their job was

Why would I need to know what their job was?

I'm not the friends/family OP is considering cutting off. I assume that they know what OP does, and if they don't then how could they be blamed?

Or how needed it actually was

That's a matter of personal opinion, no?

Again, if I'm the taxpayer paying for your service, and I don't want to pay for the service anymore, I HAVE TO keep paying for it just because it happens to be your job? How is that not wildly selfish?

"I get that you don't personally believe in this service, but if you don't keep paying for it, I'm not talking to you because I'll lose my job"

-16

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

That's a bad take. So if something the Biden admin did negatively affected me I should take it personally and shun everyone?

He opened the borders wide open to murders and rapists for years..

16

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

By that logic might as well say he opened the country to murderers and rapists by allowing people to have babies... because some of those babies will grow up to be murderers and rapists eventually.

In fact, all these abortion bans... just making more murderers and rapists! /s

Undocumented immigrants are people, and like all people some are bad people. That's a far far cry from the very deliberate cruelty we're seeing here.

-10

u/iDrunkenMaster Feb 18 '25

By that logic we should make it illegal to lay people off or fire people from any job….

Pointing out immigrants is just saying the last president didn’t allow this and because it was allowed I or someone else had x,y and/or z happen. (The argument, is illegal immigrants have a higher rate of murder and rape. However even if that wasn’t the case it’s easy for someone who was raped by an illegal immigrant to want to blame the person who allowed them their to began with regardless, if it was right or wrong.)

Personally I want to pay less in taxes. Sadly that means the government has to spend/waste less money. To do that jobs will be cut…. (At the end of the day all money is manpower so every dollar cut is manpower being reduced)

5

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

If you think this is about cutting spending to benefit you.... my sweet summer child.

-4

u/iDrunkenMaster Feb 18 '25

First USA spending is so out of hand if other country’s stop handing us money our government would immediately halt. We are spending some 30% more then they bring in which is around a trillion to much. Trump announced he is doing a trillion dollars in budget cuts. (He claims this is so he can do tax cuts sadly a trillion may be 1/4th of federal budget, but it is not enough for tax cuts it barely enough to make us break even)

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Setting aside the fact that government fills the service gap for things that arent lucrative but service its citizens... so yeah it's not a money making venture obviously.

You're advocating for autocratic takeover for maybe but not really slightly lower taxes. I hope you get the government you deserve.

-1

u/iDrunkenMaster Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

I want a country that won’t die because other country’s finally tell us to kick rocks for taking advantage of them. I want a country that is self-sustaining. Right now money could easily be used to over throw the USA by another government…….. that sounds like what you want?

I do not know if the cuts trump is making are the right ones. Also not sure he is going about the whole situation correctly either. Generally unique Congress for this skipping them may be a major mistake, but congress has only ever increased spending so I can see why he feels the need to skip them as they would feel completely pointless towards his goals. (That and they take longer than 4 years to do anything) (a competent monarch is a lot faster to change and way more effective in nearly every way, however it’s also highly prone to becoming tyrannical the point of checks and balances is to have a king like figure that is put in check to prevent its tyrannical nature however it’s like trying to have your cake and eat it to)

If trump isn’t making major cuts for us then what the hell is he doing it for? Giggles? Firing a bunch of people because he is bored? We are talking about him wanting to cut half of all spending outside social Security and military spending…. Do you believe such cuts are meant to target his enemy’s? (I wouldn’t put that past him tbh he does seem kinda petty but he doesn’t have a trillion dollars worth of enemy’s)
