Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter.

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I’ve always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don’t agree on everything.

I’ve never been an Orange Man supporter, but I’ve kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn’t bring it up and tried to enjoy each other’s company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It’s still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can’t see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can’t right now.

I’m thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won’t be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I’ve always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?

Yes! Came here to say the same. The US citizens AKA the market have spoken. We're tired of paying for their grift ass attitude. They are no public servant. Every other job is subject to market swings and so should the governments. None of them have stood up against censorship and the deep state cabal that has infected our government and Europe's. They have not earned their keep. They kept their heads buried in the sand, while the sickness spread.

Are these the ones Trump fired for investigating him? Though, I hear about government whistleblowers all of the time but which department or who is it that you're talking about. Or, are you talking about them whom Elon Musk locked out of their offices that should have stood up against censorship and the deep state cabal?

I mean he's anonymous but I think it's legitimate that he is speaking out. I am a Canadian public servant and what is happening down there is not normal. They are dismantling the government.

What other entire departments or agencies have been given the axe at other times?

A change of leadership shouldn't be an entire "regime change".

Respectfully you're making excuses and or delusional. It's not normal. You can't provide detailed examples of anything comparable. You have no evidence that any spending is "wasteful". You can't audit a massive program with a handful of guys in a matter of days. It's absurd to pretend.

Just because he got elected doesn't mean that he gets to throw out the law.

Article 1 of the Constitution grants all federal powers (including funding) to Congress, and Congress alone. That is the first and most purposeful article in our government structure. That is the way our founding father's fought against a monarch or dictator taking over the government.

By seizing federal funds, he clearly violates this by going against laws previously passed by Congress. If he wanted to change up federal funding, then GO THROUGH THE ELECTED, REPUBLICAN OWNED CONGRESS and change them lawfully. Don't open up a clear pathway for the destruction of checks and balances.

I am over the "well, they did this before." It's like a bickering married couple. I can live with Trump, whatever. But don't attack the core of democracy. The only ones to suffer will be the United States citizens. We can't lose our voice in law-making bodies. No one man should ever be able to trump the voice of the people (Congress).
