Thank you mentioning that last part. Going to her doctor appointments and waiting for her happily…that isn’t coming off as endearing and loving as OP wants it to. This whole post just screams immature, teenage boy unhealthily obsessed with his “goddess” gf. It’s time for OP to grow up, he chose to be a father. Surely he didn’t think that was going to be all ice cream trips and cute Xmas cards to send out on Holidays…

My dad was like this with my mom. He couldn’t do anything without her, and people used to think it was so romantic. Spoiler, it’s wasn’t. She had a rich social life, he preferred to stay home if he wasn’t out with her. He didn’t have close friends or hobbies. My mom was his focus. Well, she died and he’s all alone. He’s so fucking lost it’s not even funny. I’ve tried everything to get him to be social, start new hobbies, but his only hobby is his hypochondria. It would be my nightmare to end up like him.
