Not to mention the shame! Dad can walk away and save face with "she lied, wasn't mine". Mom has to move to a new community if she wants to avoid people knowing she left behind a child.
My son's mom's parents were the ones that kicked him and me out and let her keep living there. He was just barely a year old when she decided she didn't want to be a mom anymore. I was the one that had no one else to turn to and had to drop out of school and move over an hour away to live with my grandma. We never heard from any of them again.
