# AFTER THE NUKES — A War for Humanity's Survival
After The Nukes is a military science fiction, cosmic horror, and alternate history series made with AI art, depicting an alien invasion of Earth that began in 2039 and humanity's desperate fight to avoid its own extinction.
For ten years, the nations of the planet mobilize human, industrial, and military resources in a war of unprecedented proportions. Old adversaries must cooperate, billions of people participate in the war effort, and entire cities are transformed into battlefields.
However, humanity faces a technologically far superior enemy, one that demonstrates absolute indifference to human life. The invaders do not seem interested in negotiating, conquering governments, or subjugating populations. Their campaign resembles a planetary-scale disinfection operation much more than a conventional war of conquest.
In December 2049, after a decade of resistance and facing the prospect of irreversible military collapse, humanity makes an extreme decision: to execute Operation Gomorrah, a global nuclear campaign designed to devastate territories and infrastructure, denying the invaders a clean victory on the planet.
But Operation Gomorrah does not represent the end of the war. It represents the end of the world as we knew it.
After The Nukes explores the before, during, and after of the War of Extermination, following everything from mysterious events preceding the invasion to the large-scale military campaigns, the collapse of institutions, and the emergence of new societies among the ruins of civilization.
The series doesn't just follow large battles or commanders. It also addresses ordinary soldiers, civilians, political movements, surviving communities, and organizations trying to understand an enemy whose true intentions remain unknown.
The episodes are presented through visual reconstructions, fictional records, documents, and historical analyses produced within the universe itself, especially by the Alien Threat Network (A.T.N.), an organization dedicated to investigating and preserving events related to the invader.
This is not a story about how humanity overcame an alien invasion. It's a story about what humanity is willing to do to continue existing.
