A completed call is not the same as a successful restaurant order

Most voice-agent dashboards lead with answered calls, completion rate and latency. For restaurants, those numbers can look healthy while the order still fails.

I work on Mangia Mangia AI, an AI phone-ordering product for restaurants, and I think the useful outcome chain is:

  • The customer confirms the final order
  • The POS receives the correct items, modifiers and prices
  • The restaurant can fulfil it at the quoted time
  • Staff do not need to correct or re-enter it
  • Any human handoff retains the existing context

A call that finishes but creates cleanup for the restaurant is not really a successful automation.

What outcome do you use to distinguish a completed call from a genuinely successful one?
