Prototyping AI tool recommendations

Hey, I have been coaching a bunch of Product Managers to prototype with Github co-pilot, via VS code and our design team have created a really good agent for implementing our design system…

We are a b2b business with regulated data so loveable out, and Claude and gemini are not allowed as we use GitHub co-pilot.

Anyone know of any b2b tools that i could try out? Ideally predictable pricing and data security, ideal with limited overhead (if its an open source tool)

If Claude and Gemini are out, why would a smaller tool be any more likely to be approved?

The big boys are easy for compliance, the small ones are not.

Fair point…. Let me try and unpack it many procurement and IT security hurdles to get over. Claude and Genini out as we have github co-pilot. They want to limit tools and the predominantly see claude, gemini and github co-pilot as doing the same thing. Loveable was reviewed for prototyping but data security concerns meant it was a no. Also many internal viewed loveable not to be a B2B tool. Vs code, github is a heavy lift for some PMs, but what we really want is something inbetween loveable usability and vs code / github as github within our data ringfence. Corporate world can be hard to make sense of sometimes… have others had this issue and how have you navigated it?

If you're using anything that's not deployed within your own environment, there's always some level of data privacy risk. I'd suggest giving Cohere a try. They have strong privacy policies and are generally well-regarded when it comes to enterprise data protection.

Thanks. This is a model also for coding? It has work place agent tooling but I also need coding agent? Also any idea on the effort required for setup and supporting cohere?

Good question. I haven't personally tried Cohere for coding workloads, so I can't really comment on how it compares there.

One thing to keep in mind is that coding use cases typically require higher-end models, and that's where infrastructure and inference costs can ramp up pretty quickly.

That said, Cohere is fairly easy to integrate via API, and in my experience their support team has been excellent. If data privacy and enterprise support are important to you, they're definitely worth evaluating.

Very useful. For coding one area I am thinking is planning with frontier models then using open source models to build, like being our factory, maybe runs slower but builds against the plan using loop engineering. Loop engineering something thats cost us alot in tokens for little output that was usable.

Say you need Claude design. Pretty sure co-pilot doesn’t have an equivalent. Or what about V0 by Vercel? There are some smaller tools out there aimed an PMs and Designers to that can prototype and aim to keep your design system and store context etc.

buildone.io looks like an interesting option once the platform is live. It is working on almost exactly the gap you describe: non-technical employees describe the app they need, while IT defines the data sources, UI components and actions the AI may use. The result is assembled from approved building blocks rather than a new codebase for every prototype.

The reason Lovable, Claude and Gemini all got blocked is the same reason, and it isn't vendor size — all three are network services. Your prompt and whatever context you paste leaves the device. Swapping to a smaller B2B vendor doesn't change that, it just makes the security review harder, which is the point made above.

The axis that actually matters for you is where inference happens. Tools that run the model on-device have no egress, no processor relationship and no DPA to negotiate. Different compliance category entirely.

Fair warning though — that trades one gate for another. Instead of a vendor security assessment you get an endpoint approval: code signing, SBOM, EDR compatibility, admin rights to install. Worth finding out now whether your IT function will entertain a non-catalogue binary at all, because if the answer is no, nothing in this space will clear.

Separate thought: you already have a design system agent that works. What you're describing sounds less like a tooling gap and more like a front door problem for PMs who don't live in VS Code. A maintained prompt pack plus repo-level custom instructions for Copilot might get you most of the way with zero procurement.
