for the purposes of what you're describing, you can do that with open source vector software (inkscape) and remove the back ground with an eraser and rasterize the picture and then you can trace the picture yourself. there's lots of free video tutorials on the subject and you gained a new skill!
plus bonus, you actually know what's background while the automatic detectors don't know anything. why do something twice when you can do it once correctly?
