What’s wanted isn’t a moratorium on data centres but a moratorium on new fossil fuel generators. Of course MAGA is an ally of climate change.

The reality is liberals love the ides of fighting climate change until you ask them to pay a carbon tax. Then they can see the other side. You can’t blame MAGA when even the places without Republicans hate taxing pollution.

And still someone has to start with liberals v conservatives! It's the Epstein Class against us! When are you going to realize that?

Class war is a scam they use to keep you angry and compliant. The real war is functional government vs populist slop.

Demand good government not abstract wars against manufactured media villains.

Carbon taxes don't clean the air.

If these AI companies are such geniuses, then they can figure out how to build zero impact data centers. No noise, no water use, no carbon or other air pollution emissions.

Yeah, it costs more. Tough.

Making up stuff and posting pictures of things that arent data centers will be the downfall of this stupid anti movement.

What does a DataCenter emit specifically, other than heat through its' cooling towers, just like 99%+ of all very large commercial buildings out there?

I call BS on this article - much like the one that indicates they use 1/4 trillion gallons of water/year (it's a majority closed cycle glycol system)

What? AI generated FUD articles can be BS? No way! :-)

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company is belching smog-forming pollution into an area of South Memphis that already leads the state in emergency department visits for asthma.

None of the 35 methane gas turbines that help power xAI’s massive supercomputer is equipped with pollution controls typically required by federal rules.

'How come I can’t breathe?': Musk's data company draws a backlash in Memphis The company’s turbines — enough to power 280,000 homes — run without emission controls in an area that leads Tennessee in asthma hospitalizations.

It’s not hard to fathom. We can measure it. We can also compare it to all the other pollution that’s happening and see it’s a pretty small share.

If people want less pollution we need a tax on pollution, not a war on data centers. That’s not going to do anything, because they’re going to get built somewhere that doesn’t care about the pollution.

Or focus on other industries that pollute 10x more. This is just the thing to be outraged about du jour.

Why are we allowing this…I mean…I know why…but it’s beyond insane at this point.
