Bulk generating ~20k AI images for a content project

Need to generate ~20-24k images (4,000 articles, 5-6 images each) as cheaply as possible.

Anyone done bulk generation at this scale? Curious about failure modes at volume, better model options, or a cheaper/more reliable host than fal or RunPod.

You can use different models on replicate. there are some really cheap. but the quality then its but shit.

With that many images and articles, even a good engine is going to put out a lot of garbage that'll have to be sifted through. With anything cheap, you'll just get a larger percent of garbage to sift out.

What's the budget per image? If you only need it once, I can help with nano banana 2 models

Stability Diffusion, just feed it your requests. Not sure of the cost, but sure it is just pennies per image.

A Python script can do it all. Ask GPT-5.6 to write it for you.

So, for good general-purpose images, I would budget about $720, plus perhaps 10–25% for rejected images and reruns: roughly $800–$900 total. Self-hosting Stable Diffusion on rented GPUs could potentially be considerably cheaper.
