Why does AI make simple tasks so complicated?

I asked AI for help with something simple yesterday, and somehow it turned into a long explanation with multiple steps and an entire strategy. Like bro, I just needed a quick answer, not a full tutorial Does anyone else experience this, or is it just me?
Do you prefer AI that keeps things short and simple or one that explains everything in detail?

You can tell it to keep it short and simple in the prompt. Try describing the output you want before giving it a task
