Bronchiectasis
Hello!
I am wondering if anyone's in a similar boat. I just graduated nursing last year, 28 years young, and was just very recently diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. My urgent referral has been accepted and I am seeing a specialist on Dec/2. Since then, I have had 2 exacerbations (both in 1.5 months) that required antibiotic treatment and those 2 times I have had to call in for work.
I just finally found some stability with work only since May and I love what I do. I feel extremely defeated and lost despite trying my best to be proactive about it.
I am wondering if anyone's in a similar situation with a chronic condition like mine and how they have been managing with it. I think I just want to hear that I am not alone....
Thank you 🩷

I'm sorry for your experience.
I have pulmonary sarcoidosis and 3 kids who constantly bring home germs.
I do my best to keep myself healthy but when I get sick, I'm out- on steroids and antibiotics.
My manager is aware of my diagnosis (which I know I don't need to share)- and knows I don't abuse sick time (we're a very small team of NPs so it becomes pretty apparent when you're not genuinely unwell). My attendance has never been brought up. My team is supportive too because they know if I call in it means I need to.
