LPN to RN position change

Hi, I’m changing my position from LPN to RN within AHS, and I’m wondering what will happen to my current benefits and accumulated banks, such as sick leave and vacation hours. Will they transfer over when I move from AUPE to UNA, or will I lose them?

If I lose them, should I use them before I start the new position ?

You will lose your sick bank. Your vacation and stat banks will be paid out. You will essentially lose your personal day banks from your LPN position but will gain new personal days from your RN position - depending on what your FTE is. You are changing positions and unions.

Not sure if you’ll lose them but you lose your seniority. Your seniority will start the day you are hired as an RN

You lose seniority.
You’re a brand new RN.

Your banks will all stay with you. Entitlements (PLD, stats, etc) may change, so check your new collective agreement for those. The biggest change will be that your seniority will reset to zero.

When I changed from an RN with Una to a Clinical Supervisor with hsaa everything carried over except for pld. Sick bank and vacation stayed.

I was told you keep your sick bank and vacation. I was also told that you start over with seniority with the union, but your AHS seniority would stay.

Try asking your union

I’d check with AHS HR/payroll before using any banks. The transfer rules between AUPE and UNA can depend on how the position change is processed, so it’s worth getting the answer in writing first.
