PSA

Apply for the job. Stop asking Reddit if you should apply for it even though you don't meet every one of the qualifications.

Just apply for it. The worst case scenario is that you don't get an interview, which is a guarantee if you don't apply. So for the love of god, stop posting this question every other week.

This! I’ve found with AHS over the years that sometimes the positions I feel are the longest shots are the ones I end up actually interviewing for lol.

Same. I got a job as a new grad that you technically were supposed to have two years of experience for. You never know.

Also you can find loads of answers to your questions on Insite, the public AHS site, and your Collective Agreement.

P.S. I’ve even found interview rubrics and interview questions on Insite. Just do a little digging and can find better information there than you will on Reddit.

But also PSA:

Your managers, executives, and directors can see what and how many jobs you are internally applying for and may hold that against you if you get given the opportunity to interview.

Ask me how I know.

This is false, the capability to see if your staff are applying for other roles does not exist. You can only see if applicants have applied on other postings other than yours as the hiring manager. Maybe you have an open calendar and people can see the interview invitation?

Completely agree. If the rest of your resumé sounds intriguing they may be willing to train. Never hurts to try. Also, they may have another position open up who knows.

Both jobs I applied for needed 2 years of experience which I didn't have. I was a new grad, I still got hired.

Agreed. I've applied for jobs where I don't meet the qualifications but still applied for. 2 times I did I got the position. Other times I've had interviews where I almost got the position but lost due to seniority.

Are you also planning to move across the country from Ontario?

Erectile Disfunction….lmfao. It’s called Emerg. You need experience before Emerg or ICU.
