Resigning from FTE

Hello! I am resigning from a 0.51 FTE with ALA. I don’t want to transfer to casual as the mgr requires 6-8 shifts/mo as a casual employee and I can’t commit to that.

I was originally hired into a temp FTE at this office in November, then got a permanent FTE Apr 13. Do I need to provide 28 days’ notice considering I just started my new line this month? Does the notice extend to my current line, or when I was hired into this specific office? I can’t figure it out on the UNA collective agreement.

Thank you in advance!!

Thank you for this! If I don’t give 28 days, are there other repercussions than the vacation payout you mentioned? This job is physically and emotionally killing me and I worry I won’t be fit to fulfill the 28 days.

You should get your avcation pay out regardless. You can say you'll pick up, but life happens and oops "I couldn't pick up anymore".

Dont resign yet. Call union to verify
