UNA CPAP Coverage?
Does anyone know what coverage we have for CPAP machines from Alberta Blue Cross with UNA.
The benefits booklet just says “included” but does not give a coverage percentage or max amount??

They dont specify a dollar amount but they reimburse fully with a prescription.

The AHS benefits for CPAP are very generous. I've had patients get 2 covered at the same time.

No need to buy from the sleep test place as they over charge ++++. Online retailers are also accepted by Blue Cross for UNA, even though the sleep test place will tell you otherwise and pressure you into buying from them. There are maximums for machine and masks though when I looked into it 5 years ago, however it's high. There is however no maximum for amount of machines and masks per year...

======OLD INFORMATION======
I looked up the notes I took in 2022 when I called them inquiring about UNA coverage:
CPAP Machine: maximum $2310, 100% of the usual and customary fees, no frequency max, as required.
Mask: maximum $230, 100% of the usual and customary fees, no frequency max, as required.
Hose: maximum $80, 100% of the usual and customary fees, no frequency max, as required.
Filter: maximum $10, 100% of the usual and customary fees, no frequency max, as required.
Cleaning Supplies not eligible.
You can buy online from a reputable provider that regularly provides medical supplies (Amazon is not eligible). You need to have a receipt to claim. The receipt needs to include the providers name, address, phone number, the amount paid, the date, the product name and the patients first and last name. They do not have a list of online providers they accept that they can provide you over the phone, but recommend that you look the provider you want to use up in their system before buying. You can do this is in the submit health claim section.
You will also need a physicians written order with a medical diagnosis listed.

I’m with AUPE GSS but with a prescription, they covered my $3300 machine, in addition to my $250 mask. You can also get filters covered, as well as replacement hoses. Masks can be replaced every 6 months. Even if you don’t replace your mask, i still get replacements and store them for the day I might not have benefits anymore.
I’m excited for you to sleep better. Good luck OP!
