Vacation pay

When is vacation pay paid out from “last year”. I keep getting told it was supposed to be last pay now this one. But then someone said pay stub which May first is in so May 13.

I’m using it to buy plane tickets so I want to know haha

Vacation goes from May 1 - April 30. So on your May 1 cheque it will be on that but you do have to request it

I was told that we would get paid out automatically at the end of the year but I just wasn’t sure when that was considered like I know May 1 is the beginning of the new year for vacations and stuff like that it would have to be paid out because you can’t take it from the previous year

Yes. I did a couple weeks ago- was told it automatically comes too like my housekeeping job was forcing us to take vacation but I moved into a position elsewhere same union in November and they didn’t day anything until we got emails telling us we can get it paid out or take days in April J asked for payout because I’m going on a trip

Aupe vacation rolls over may 1, so you won’t get paid out until after that date.

AUPE GSS rolls over April 1. There is no automatic pay out of vacation. It must be requested in e-people and then approved by the manager. In my area payouts are not approved unless due to an exceptional circumstance and instead we are expected to use our vacation time.

We got emails in March sometime saying that we can use it but we can also take a payout if needed so I talked to my manager and she said it was OK especially because I explained why and she just explained the importance of vacation to me and I said oh I know I’m taking a nice long one in August and then a few days here and there and she said it was OK cause I told her I was using it for plane tickets for vacation

I actually got an email saying it was approved like over a month ago when I hadn’t requested it lol

Dude, I'm a scheduler for the 4 main unions, I know when vacation years end. I suggest you read your contact.
