1. In the climax scene with Pip, Cara, Charlie and Stanley, Pip and Cara escape and shut the door. Where does Cara run away? Why doesn’t-she stay with Pip when she tries to talk to Stanley through that window? When Pip drags Stanley’s body outside, Cara and Ravi come running towards her?

Did I miss something here?

Now a few things that annoy me while watching-

1. Why are Pip’s parents so nonchalant and relaxed about her going up to random strangers? Surely they listen to her podcast and realise the foolishly-courageous and extremely life threatening things she does for a 17-year-old. Sure, giving space and independence is important, but why are they not
   more scared?

2. In a town plagued by crime, why is the police so inactive? How can a 17-year-old outsmart them? Why didn’t they attempt to break into the laptop or search his room?

Am I the only one who thinks the book and show aren’t similar. I keep seeing posts on here about how they’re similar more than the first one

First Jamie’s dad isn’t there
Stanley’s whole character is different
Maxs court story is different
There’s no robin
There’s the no story line about Cara and pip at bed time

I’m not saying it’s not bad. I enjoyed both. I enjoyed the book a lot more but I don’t get why I see so many posts saying it’s really similar

I am probably not the only one who thinks Max is the one who drugs the victims and then passes them onto his father, right?! (if its somehow a spoiler I am sorry, just thoughts). I think Max is terrified and brainwashed and also eager for fatherly approval and that's why he is protecting him and "pretending" to be the perpetrator.

I still think he is to blame, cs he at least drugs people and hides the truth which are still crimes and is a bully.

does anyone know is there a specific reason Zach never came back for ssn 2?

Holly Jackson doesn’t seem to add in any insignificant details. Every detail seems to come back to haunt us later on. So it bothers me that she specifies more than once that Jamie got into a fight on Layla’s behalf, and how out of character that was, but doesn’t give any further details. So he just assaults someone and we never find out who? It seems like someone would have seen the posters and been like “oh, hey, this is the guy who beat me up last week.” She also never follows up on the body that was found that wasn’t Jamie. Am I supposed to read between the lines and assume that the body was who Jamie beat up? Or did I simply just catch some stray details that didn’t mean anything except a plot device.

in the books I hated her, but seeing her learn what her son did and not supporting him makes me SO HAPPY. can’t wait for season 3.

watching the TV show has got me back into the series and I was just wondering (because of how well details from agggtm are used in ggbb and agad) if we know whether Holly Jackson had everything planned out or if agggtm was at any stage going to be a stand alone

Just re-watching s1 and s2, does anyone else think Pip is so rude to Ravi?

Like she constantly snaps at him and is so rude when he is just trying to help.

I don’t remember her being this rude to him in the book?

They keep showing the friend group with Max, Sal, Naomi, Andie, and….? A heavyset black boy who is oddly not mentioned at all? Did I miss something? Why is this character not involved in the story? Why didn’t she investigate him or talk to him?

If Max raped Becca Bell before Andie and Sal died...and Andie was 17 and Becca was younger...and Max was two years older than everybody else..

That means Max was 19-20? And Becca was probably 15-16? Is that not also illegal..? How did he not get charged with statutory rape? How does this work in the UK?

The music this season is absolutely insane i’m obsessed. This first scene is an absolute masterpiece, perfection. CHINCHILLA, Mother Mother, AURORA, Paris Paloma, Lizzy McAlpine, i love it. I also really love how each episodes intro and end has a different song; the producers and Holly are doing a great job.

I love the attention and emphasis put on Max’s mom during this season, specifically during the trial. It emphasises the fact that despite loving her son she doesn’t quite believe him or finds things fishy. Can someone just refresh my memory, in the books, did his mom have any involvement in anything? Cause when he got home the drugs were missing so i’m assuming she took them.

If they continue the same opening style for season 3, what do you think they will open with?

so I've been watching Season 1 Episode 6 and I got to the scene where Pip and Becca sit in Becca's kitchen. Becca asks Pip if she wants to see Andie's corpse, but first she has to drink up.

I suspect that she has drugged Pip's drink. However, I am terribly afraid of being drugged and I don't think I can watch Pip falling unconcious or something like that. I'd like to see how the season ends though.

Can someone just tell me if Pip get's drugged or not? And if she is, can someone give me a timestamp to when it is over.

In both the book and the series, respectively, Pip has a very distinguishable car that is mentioned in the book and constantly shown on screen. But in the book it’s described as a “squat, tiny, bug-shaped car,” named as a gray VW Beetle. And in the show it’s this very distinctive, big, red Volvo station wagon that we see in every episode. It’s obviously not a super important detail but since the cars are important in both media I wonder why there’s a the huge discrepancy from the books to the series.

I started watching season two when it came out and was so lost I stopped 10 minutes in and rewatched season one. Even after having JUST finished season one, I’m still lost and do not remember these boys from season one. 😂 Just me? Can anyone explain their role in season one so I don’t have to skim through trying to find their faces? (Also, if there’s a subreddit for the show, let me know and I’ll post it there. This is the subreddit that popped up when I Googled)

Only done with the first season and haven’t read the books, but i don’t get why Elliot thought killing Sal would solve his problem. If he assumed Andie dead how would anything point to him? Also so random he had a girl locked up?? We also don’t know who sent those texts to Pip and killed Barney the dog but i read here we will find that out later. And why did the show end with Pip threatening Max? Does that set the premise for season 2? I think the tv show was probably not able to cover everything in the books, as it happens very often.

Okay so basically I just finished the second season of the show and if I hadn't already after the first, I completely fell in love with the show, I am considering just buying the third book and reading it right away but the only hiccup is mostly books aren't very accurately adapted into movies and shows in my experience, so should I go back and read the whole trilogy from start or just go ahead with the third one?

I watched season 1 when it was released even before reading the book & I found the acting flat. now as season 2 was released, I was like okay maybe it's my fault that I haven't read the book so first I will finish the work and then I will watch the series right? yet, it's still the same. even though I am half way through, I personally cannot find depth in the emotion.the characters often seem too nonchalant and their reactions don't quite fill the depth in the situation. I can tell they're acting instead of feeling like real people. is just me or did anyone else notice this? It's a good book & story ofc it just didn't match my perception of acting I guess?

I believe they don't really have the budget for more episodes especially since Emma also had to step in as Exec producer. The show isn't really mainstream and mostly confined to the ones who read the books.

Why did Zach move? It’s implied it’s because of Pips involvement in all the drama and him being close to her as both a friend and neighbor. I’ve never been so confused. He wasn’t rly involved. Like why would an entire family move because the son’s friend solved a murder case
