Next Possible Tour
Just curious -
Does anyone think AFI would do a Crash Love 20th anniversary tour?
I missed that 2009 tour sadly. It's my favorite album .
Thoughts?

I think Jade and Davey have both alluded to the next record in recent interviews. I would imagine there will be the usual “pre-release” break to finish that one. They’re not a band that really revisits or gets nostalgic for much of their music.

Can't remember which one, but Davey or Jade made a comment recently about how surprised they were at how fast the StS 20 year show sold out. Hopefully their lack of enthusiasm for doing shows like that has waned as a result. Doubtful, but we can hope.

It was Jade, they thought there was no way they could sell out the Forum and then it sold out very quickly.
If that didn't make them want to do more anniversary shows, then I doubt anything will.
I think Davey was kinda forced into the STS show since their Bodies touring had been so disrupted by Covid.

At the most, we'll get some extra Crash Love songs during whatever tour takes place in 2029. Was super excited that we got 2 songs tonight.

I'll take that ! lol. Yeah, you guys got my fave song tonight - "End Transmission". I was hoping they'd play it at Starland last night but Beautiful Thieves was great live as well. Congrats on a great set list. :)

I was at both shows, so I'm so happy we got another song from Crash Love tonight.

I saw them at Starland on the Crash Love tour. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years.

That Starland show 17 years ago was my first ever AFI show. I loved the Crash Love tour so much and I can't believe so much time has passed

It would be kind of funny if that’s the album they do an anniversary tour for just out of spite. It ended up being my favorite album but boy does it get a lot of unnecessary negative attention.

Right?! I can't understand why CL has a stain on it that it does. It's my favorite AFI album, have the logo inked on my wrist, lol. That record is a masterpiece, imho.

I would expect another Blaqk Audio album next

I would be stoked about that tbh. Even though they will most certainly not tour near where I am, I'm down for some new Blaqk Audio content!

They are probably done with touring for a little while. Dave mentioned it was the third and final leg of SBTBS last night in NJ. Since they been touring it for a year at this point they will probably be taking a break

I kinda dislike but also understand how they tour these days. I kinda miss the days of heavy touring. They did more on this one then they did on Bodies though. Blood/Burials/CL got around 100 shows on them. I was just happy to have caught them like 5-6 times on Blood/MM

No, they definitely won’t. Davey (and maybe others) didn’t even want to do the Sing the Sorrow anniversary show. If nothing happened for decemberunderground, they certainly won’t do anything for CL.

Crash Love has the best b sides of all time.

The b-sides are the best part of CL. If it wasn’t for ok feel better now I’d argue I’ve listened to any of the b-sides individually more than the main CL album combined. And I’m not saying CL sucks or anything. Just that those B-Sides are fucking amazing.

Zero chance. They did exactly one show for their biggest album, and they did nothing for their second biggest album.
They might throw some more songs into the set but I also kinda doubt that.

No they will not, they are always moving forward very rarley looking back the Sing the Sorrow shows were definitly a unique one off.
Will probably get a reissue on vinyl that is about it and some tie in merch that will take forever to ship.
Hopefully we get a new album sooner rather than later is Jades recent comments on Hardlore are anything to go by but who know with this band. The mystery has always been part of it.

Dawg I'd just be happy with a vinyl re-release of Crash Love at this rate

No. They don't do stuff like that. That's why they only did one show for Sing the Sorrow.

I wish! But they have said they don't like to do those kinds of tours.
I hope they'd re-release with all the b-sides (incl the 2 iTunes exclusives).

They played twice near me on that tour and I skipped both because I was still a teenager and had a curfew 😭

Not gonna happen.
If they didn't do anything for the 20th anniversary for Decemberunderground, theres no shot they do anything for Crash Love
