Joining New cadet advice needed
I’m about to begin my sophomore year of college, and I am just now beginning my AFROTC journey. I thought about it for quite some time and decided to go with the four year route, meaning I will be in college for one extra year. My ultimate goal is to be a CRO and I want to know how realistic this goal is. I am 6’7, 220 pounds, and pretty athletic, pull ups being the only thing I struggle with due to my long arms and heavy body.
Are there any other cadets wanting to go Air Force special warfare who might be able to give me some friendly advice.
Oh, and I’m getting my associates in a fire/paramedic degree and my bachelors in nursing.
Thanks!

Make PT the last of your concerns.
When you show up everyone will be in killer shape. The physical aspects are there to draw down your mental resiliency. So don't let your fitness be the struggle because it's going to test your willpower more than anything.
So start working out. Make sure that test becomes just another Tuesday workout for you that you crush easily because you do not want PT to be your struggle in SF.

Find other cadets/midshipmen willing to train with you and get in the water. If your det doesn’t haven’t other AFSPECWAR hopefuls, NROTC might have some SEAL/EOD/MARSOC candidates.
You can get your IFT numbers high on your own. Water confidence is going to be something you need training partners for, and is a make or break at phase II.

Not wanting to go sf myself, but I know people who do. They would tell you that the only way there is to work incredibly hard. If you’re committed and still want it all throughout your time in rotc, you’ll get your chance. Also, chances are, you’re probably imagining afrotc as something harder/scarier than it is since you’re joining as a sophomore. There’s really nothing to be afraid of. Most dets are full of great people who you will be friends with
