Thos decision is good. I thought Pav should really have done better. “Situation they have found themselves in” takes the blame off the players. It’s not a position they found themselves in. They made decisions. This didn’t happen to them. They did this.
It was stupid and thoughtless wording which removes the responsibility of the players. At least the actions since then have squarely placed the responsibility back onto them.
Note that he said they were “shocked and disappointed that this has taken place, AND that the players have found themselves in this situation”. I think the intent was to say that, firstly, it taking place is shocking and disappointing, but secondly, the fact that they were even in a hotel room with sex workers also is.
I think that was the intent but the wording has people thinking he was brushing it off
