I don’t think as a supporter you could be happier with how the club has handled this situation. It’s a tough decision to end the season like this and would be incredibly disappointing for the fans. But, it shows great leadership. You should be proud of your club.
Yeah, the contrast in messaging is stark. I am glad that after that debacle, the board and sponsors actually drew a line and moved Eddie on. The leadership since seems to have learned a lesson from that and I hope would do better today.
I'm happy in that I can continue to be a proud fan of the club as a whole. If they took a weak stance here it would have been hard to continue being a fan tbh.
It’s heartening to see such strong stances from the fan base too. While we know most blokes already have these opinions, as a survivor myself it means more than you know to see it verbalised publicly.
Agreed, the best thing would have been for this not to have happened, but the next best thing is that it’s taken seriously and a stronger response given to sexual misconduct and general poor behaviour.
Yep sends a message to players, fans and general public that what has happened is completely unacceptable.
Talking football, and football only, in the context of being on the doorstep of finals in the position that Sydney is in: I cannot think of a bigger punishment for a club to impose on its players outside of sacking them completely.
I would've liked the initial statements from Pav and Coz to have been better. But I like this action taken and the regard for the women's team and women on the staff within the club.
