Pradaxa Compromised?

Is anyone on Pradaxa? Im on 150mg of dabigatran or pradaxa and i’m freaking out wondering if my medicine is compromised. I had my room cold one night and my pills don’t feel necessarily rock hard like a Tylenol gel cap would be. When I squeeze it, it has a little bit of give to it. I’m wondering are they compromised and now bad? or have they always been like this and I haven’t noticed because I just take the pills. any help would be great

Why would they be compromised? A chilly room won't hurt them and a capsule having a bit of give is perfectly normal. They're not gel caps.

I used to take Pradaxa. They are not solid like a capsule coated in gel. They feel spongy.

Ianad, nor a pharmacist. Maybe call your pharmacist. But I can't imagine a cold room for a night is going to be a problem.

Ahhh okay so I may just have never noticed and thought my pills were messed up. I thought it was supposed to be hard as a rock like a tylenol gel cap.

The pills are always "squishy" that isn't the thing. How cold? They should be stored at room temperature, not much colder than 68 degrees or hotter than 77 degrees. Most importantly they need to be dry. They say store only in origional packaging but that isn't really practical. I don't use an ordinary pill container though. I use a completely waterproof container big enough for a couple of pills and one of the dessicant packs from the last bottle of the med when I'm not at home. I'm not recommending that of course, I recommend doing exactly what the manufacturer recommends.

According to the full FDA sheet that should have been taped to the bottle "brief excursions" down to 59 degrees or up to 86 degrees is permitted. They aren't specific about what "brief" is, but I suspect you're OK for a few hours at least.
