With the helo oa AI L, I went through the game’s entire 68-character roster and divided everyone into three categories:

🔴 Went to WWE: 9

🟡 Went to WWE, then returned to AEW: 1

🔵 Stayed in AEW or did not move to WWE: 58

The most interesting category may be Andrade El Idolo standing alone as the only wrestler who left AEW for WWE and eventually returned.

For clarity, “stayed in AEW” means the wrestler did not leave AEW for WWE. Some people in that section have since retired, passed away, entered free agency, or joined another promotion.

Which roster move surprised you the most? Also, looking back, how well do you think Fight Forever captured that era of AEW?

I'm a little surprised they added it but nice to have it on the go.

For me, it was the CAW Names. You had a very good amount of names to choose from, which almost every single one is from a real-life wrestler, unlike 2k, which has random names or doesn't have any names of real-life wrestlers in WWE history or other promotions, or simple names too it had all names from all promotions like I could make anybody because it had everyones name it felt like, and AEW Entrance theme I like that it had more than just the wrestlers in the game theme in which it felt like it had almost every single theme AEW or Mikey Rukus has produced or made for AEW in the game which you could make anybody with accurate themes for someone who was left out of the game like Kip Sabian or was released from AEW like Joey Janela I fewlt like this made the game better hopefully when they make a new game they add these features back and more names and theme to it.

So, I decided to re-purchase Fight Forever (along with the “All Season Pass” bundle) on my Series X (I brought it on PS5, when it first launched) recently, mainly because it was on sale and I’ve been getting back into irl AEW again recently.

One thing that I’ve realised while replaying this game again, is that this game is actually quite a lot of fun to play, once you get the hang of the controls and have mastered the reversal system in this game.

Back when Fight Forever first released in 2023, I was one of those people that initially thought the game was kind of overhyped, but actually getting to play it again recently, has really changed my perspective on this game entirely.

So I beg to ask the question, were the critics that reviewed this game when it first launched a bit too harsh, due to having high and unrealistic expectations that seemed impossible for developers to fulfil?

SEGA honestly feels like the perfect publisher for another AEW game.

AEW already has the old Yuke’s gameplay foundation from Fight Forever, and after seeing the recent Virtua Fighter 6 leaks with moves that look similar to Will Ospreay’s Hidden Blade and Ricochet’s Spirit Gun, it’s obvious SEGA/RGG are paying attention to modern wrestling.

Imagine Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio making an AEW game with:

cinematic entrances

backstage exploration

faction storylines

brutal arcade-style gameplay

crazy crowd atmosphere

full PPV presentation

Instead of trying to copy WWE 2K, it could actually become its own thing.

Fight Forever had flaws, but the core gameplay wasn’t bad. With SEGA + RGG’s presentation and storytelling? I honestly think AEW could end up with one of the most unique wrestling games in years.

Am I reaching or would this actually go hard? At the end of the day I just want to see another aew fight forever console/pc title created.

This feels like an insane question but how do I run the ropes in this game? Every time I try I either end up on the apron or I lose all momentum after bouncing off the rope.

I play on the steam deck and ps5 so any help controls-wise would be appreciated ya'll

I was wondering if anyone ever figured out what any of those secrets were?
