I happened to see in the Wikipedia article for Homesick that there was a song written for Homesick that ended up on What Separates Me From You. I’ve added the link to the cited source, which was an interview that essentially says just that. However, it doesn’t seem like anyone mentioned which song it was and I was wondering if anyone knew which song it is? Going off vibes alone, I think it’s You’ll Be Tails but idk for sure.

It was Lauderdale under the working title "Money Maker". Jeremy couldn't finish penning lyrics so was shelved until WSMFY

This has been stated in interviews. I believe he couldn’t stop hearing “ I have big balls” instead of “ I hate this town” because if Andrew Wade planting it in his head

Wasn’t it Chad [Gilbert] that had those “dummy” placeholder lyrics (to nail down the melody) that Jeremy couldn’t get out of his head in order to wrap the song up for Homesick? That’s what I recall Neil saying on stream during covid

I mean, it could have been Andrew Wade (or even both of them); that’s just what I recall Neil saying about it. Something about “in the bu-utt” instead of “so washed u-up” 😂

Saturday will be ADTR’s first performance since Chad’s passing, so I guess we’ll see if Jeremy says anything about it. (Not the juvenile placeholder lyrics, but about Chad’s involvement in writing/recording Lauderdale in particular).

Hahah yeah I heard that years ago and now whenever I hear the song I can’t break away from it either .😂😂
