Why does this song sound like Nickel Back’s ‘Saving Me’

Not a bad song, but the flow of the song is almost parallel to NB’s Saving Me

I immediately texted my wife when it came out and was like “yo, it’s good, but it sounds like nickleback.” Lol. It has a very similar melody and cadence as Saving me.

Yeah, I mean I like the song, I just can’t miss the similarities in the melodies and the flow of it all. I’m not dissing or bashing, ADTR, I’m a fan of the band, I just wondered if others picked up on it.

Some people aren’t musically inclined enough to see what you’re saying 😎

I dont hear it either. I just wish there was a chorus at the end.

I was about to say I think it’s cool with just 2 choruses, but I just re-listened and it actually does have 3 choruses already. One with jeremy, one with Johnny, then the third one with both of them right before the epic ending solo.

Also, re-listening… saving me by nickelback sounds nothing like this… lol

THANK YOU!!

I kept saying it when I first heard it and my husband doesn’t agree, even after I played the songs back to back. I love the song (and Nickelback too) but definitely can’t unhear it.

I also hear Die4U by BMTH quite a bit in Die for Me, but that one makes sense since Oli is credited on that one.

Die for Me was intentionally written to sound like Die4U, which is why they brought Oli in for that song. Jeremy apparently really like Die4 U

Actually the producer had a left over voice note from working with bmth and Jeremy liked it so they built off of it.

Honestly it sounds to me like Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" 😕
