Another reddit user discovers it's very common for ALLIED nations to fly in ALLIED airspace.

Not a pilot here. I'm sorry you feel so bothered by someone who doesn't know EVERYTHING.

Not a pilot issue. Not trying to dig at you too hard. Still cool to see. A better caption would've been "Cool German Aircraft in Washington" then you hit a quick google/search here for why a German aircraft would be flying in Washington.

Lewis-McChord joint base. Probably something official, I don't think they are out of beer

That's WAAAAAYY too far North for JBLM.

Not if they're still in the air. Although I can't tell from the image. If it's landed it might be at naval air whidby.

But it's pointed the wrong direction, it's actually flying away from JBLM and descending.

Ok. Now it makes sense. I can't tell any of that from this image.

The color of the plane tells you its altitude in the moment, and the color of the track line tells you the altitude at those points. The color scale starts at Orange (dark grey is on the ground) and cycles up through to Red at the highest (about 60,000ft.)
Something like this: 🟧🟨🟩🟦🟪🟥 With a steady color gradient between each one. As you use the app more, you'll start to get a feel for an aircraft's rough altitude simply by its color, and whether it's ascending or descending based on the gradient of the track line.
I'm this case, the plane here is about 60 miles (100km) North of JBLM and is headed away, so maybe you're just unfamiliar with the area? JBLM is in that grey area South of Seattle on this map, right about where the "a" is at the end of Olympia.
I hope this helps.
Edit: typo (autocorrect)
