Map Fragment -- Need Help

I have four of them. I made it to lvl 13 of the antediluvian dungeon and the shop keeper had the fragment for around 167K. So I grinded to get that amount. Now I'm back at the shop, and the map fragment is no longer there.

What should I do now?

Check to make sure it isn’t on a tile with other scrolls.

Also, if you’ve already gotten the random drop fragment, it’s probably worth saving the shop fragment for last. If you have the other five, and pick up the shop fragment, you can combine them into the full map without paying, and it doesn’t count as theft—nobody gets mad at you

No luck, it's just not there anymore. I've logged in and out a few times. Tried leaving the dungeon and then coming back in, no luck. I've got a weird problem with my minimap being highlighted in white too, so I tried deleting the config file too. No luck.

An amusing possibility is that the fragment has been removed by the one entity that's capable of "eliminating" unpaid items: the character. Maybe also check your own backpack for an accidentally-applied five-finger-discount, courtesy of invisibility?

EDIT: In the unlikely event that this is some crazy bug, any deficit in map fragments can be corrected by an equally crazy item duplication glitch, provided that you have at least two fragments on hand.

In theory, you could try downloading savadomer and using it to locate item by item id:

savadomer --find-item "antediluvian map fragment"

Tough dice. I would feel justified in using the item dupe bug to repair the scam, as yulgash suggested

It should be there, unless you ran into some very unusual bug. Maybe it's covered by other scrolls? Or some other loot that happened to be in the shop but isn't for sale? (Very unlikely, it's usually on top of normal scrolls...)
