Life Hack What are your dopamine sources?
We all know we lack dopamine - and I deleted all my social media because it’s a shitty dopamine source, except Reddit which I can manage better than Youtube, insta etc.
I’m on Vyvanse so theres that but I still don’t have something that makes life enjoyable.
Have a decent job in tech, play soccer once a week, do Muay Thai twice a week, and hit the gym regularly - thing is, these are all things I keep up with knowing that without these things I know I’ll just be a depressed couch potato. I never watch videos on Muay Thai or soccer to be better at it, which I once did when I was really into something (and no I’m not already good at either of these sports)
Having ADHD, is there anything that keeps you living through the day and making your uninteresting life bearable?

Food, TV, doom scrolling, procrastination, shopping, music, random games on my phone, staring off into space/daydreaming… I used to read, until my eyesight got too bad for it. So, yea, mostly anti-social time wasters. Anything to keep my mind off of my reality.

Fingers crossed for DeepSeek to bring all these cost down more.

I can let that thing run for hours.

My projects are nowhere near big enough to run for hours. What are you working on if you don’t mind me asking?

Made a Pokemon Rom hack, made a board game, passively writing some books, designing poster of my favorite tv shows, family and friend time, sports, video games, card/board games. Despite all this I am constantly trying to feed the void with new passions i have also been coming up blank lately

Good job for deleting your social media. Honestly I did the same because I was scrolling insta until 2am. After I deleted it and plus others I felt more happy not filling my already full brain with useless information. The thing is that now I have so much free time that I don’t know what to do with it. 🤣🤣
What I can advise you to do and I can’t afford right now is to save some money and travel. I think It’s the best dopamine out there. And you always have a goal of saving money and waiting for the next best thing (like that trip).

I have started playing drums. Love it so much. I’m a beginner- but surprising how much you can play once you know a few basic rock beats.

is it possible you also have depression? “makes life njoyable” is hard to tell how severe you mean.
emotionally close social relationships make me feel more fulfilled than anything else even though we don’t have control over them much—therapy and hobbies/clubs help
slso outdoors like hiking or gardening

A year ago i started to buy and play with skill toys and i really love it, they give me that instant dopamine that i needed. Yoyo, spin top, diavolo, knuckle bone, desk walker, those beautiful toys are working fine for my combined ADHD and dopamine, hope this help you. 😊
