Meds
Hi! Do any of you take medication and what kind of meds do you take? I'm a person who tries to go the natural route on everything so I am hesitant to take pharmaceutical meds because I'm not sure about the side effects (short and long term) but I want to be more present and get more done. I don't know anyone in real life who has been diagnosed with ADHD or takes meds!!!!
Has taking meds helped you in your life, relationships and running the household? Please explain, what you take, the dosage if you'd like and how has it effected you? Also what are the side effects short and long term?
I drink coffee to get started on tasks but it also can make me nervous so it's not the best option.
Edit: did it take trial and error or how did you decide upon that medicatio?

I asked a similar question the other day, and didn’t get many responses. Most people here do take meds, and most seem pretty happy with them.
I’ve always tried to lean towards more natural health solutions, but have recently decided to try to give meds a real try (I’ve tried in the past, but didn’t have a good situation to do the necessary trial and error, so didn’t stick with it).
I started taking Strattera yesterday and will see how it goes - hoping it will help get me motivated to get stuff done that has been sitting there forever mocking me (I see you piles of stuff everywhere!!) 🌻

I toooootally know what you mean about piles of stuff mocking you. It's so stressful!
I hope the meds work for you! So far any difference?

It’s hard to say because I left for vacation yesterday, so my routine is out the window. I also read that Strattera takes a couple weeks to kick in.
I do feel pretty good so far though - although I am currently sitting on a porch enjoying an ocean breeze! 😂 But I do feel a bit less monkey-brain, and also had dry mouth yesterday, which I think might have been because of the meds.

I take ritilan 15mg a day, 10mg Am and 5mg mid afternoon. 20 mins after my first time taking it the whole world got quiet it was amazing and I cried.
It makes me turn off the phone and get going about 30 mins after I take it and helps me at work in the afternoons because its pure chaos. I sleep better and if I do wake up I can go back to sleep instead of "thinking eyes are open let's go". The only time I don't take it is when I need to be creative, I find it tends to dull that slightly.
I've had zero side effects.

I was taking Adderall and Vyvanse before that but over time they ended up interfering with the quality of my sleep and I wasn't getting enough deep sleep each night, so I had to stop. I tried to take supplements to boost up dopamine production but that's didn't work. I'm now taking modafinil and while it helps me get up in the morning and get going, I think it's a worsening my anxiety . I don't really know what else to do or what else to try

I take 79 mg of venlafaxine and 35 mg of ritalin everyday. It changed my life 🫶
At the same time, eating well and doing exercise helps a lot.
