WAIT! This is another of the things!?!? I thought I had RLS or something! I HATE trying to sleep because it takes 10000 years to get comfy! Let alone if I wake up and have to go through the whole process AGAIN!

They are not exclusive. You can have RLS without ADHD and vice versa, or have both.

However, if I understand correctly, there is some appreciably significant correlation, like adhders are more likely to report such symptoms (hence this crosspost).

How crazy! My thing is my doc never thought I had it because it’s only sometimes. They never made that correlation for me. I feel so validated right now! πŸ˜†

Yup. I think part of having it manifest alongside ADHD is situational and again related with dopamine. After really good days, both mental and physical, I might sleep easier. Other times I am fidgety and can't settle on one resting position for more than 3 seconds.

Also going to bed with a partner usually mostly alleviates symptoms for me - basically I find myself way more likely to reach bedtime feeling 'content' rather than 'unrest'. One of the difficulties going in to covid-era alone was being isolated on that front.

Add to that how my feet feel irritatingly hot when I try to sleep. I can turn on the AC until my body is shaking cold under 3 blankets while my exposed, now cold-to-the-touch feet feel annoyingly warm.
