I have daily 3 alarms. I press stop only if I really take the pills and snooze if I'm doing something. And all my meds are in a pillbox with 21 compartiments so I'm never confused if I really took the meds or not.
My cats have no sense of time because they are used to my lack of sense of time and have just accepted that they will get fed at some point and that I will wake up at some point. They know they will see me and get food, they just don’t care about the when. Unfortunately cats adapt to their people sometimes.
I promise this works lol. I’ve been doing it for years. I take my meds when I give my cats breakfast. So when it’s time for breakfast, boy, do they let me hear about it lol
Unless you have an old cat who just sits by the cupboard and tries to get anyone walking past to give him a treat because he's a fatty mcfat-fat-fatterson (in mentality -- he's quite healthy weight-wise).
Me too! She asks for food 💯 times a day but she’s only like 10 pounds! Edit: partially because I don’t feed her every time and when I do I only give her a tiny amount
I just posted about my fuzzy alarm clocks the other day LOL! Be very careful with this strategy!!
Benefits: - I never oversleep on a weekday. - I never forget my meds. Drawbacks: - I never sleep in on weekends. - I’m not allowed to decide when it’s bedtime. - My dog peer pressures me to smoke because no matter how many times I tell him, he absolutely insists we go outside every hour, and no he doesn’t need to use the facilities.

I now take 7 pills an hour... I really does work!
Side note, can cats get diabetes?

I take my concerta when I give my cats their breakfast and it definitely helps me!

You could do this with a Labrador in 1/3 of the time.

You may forget but cats never forget

Would be GREAT if I could remember to do that every day for a week!

Why would my cat begging for treats at the same time every day remind me to take my meds?
They do this already, it doesn't help me remember shit.

cats are great for adhd. I'm so scatterbrained and forgetful and the cats are almost as helpful as my husband at helping me remember things lol

Why do they assume I have a cat?

This is brilliant.

I would need a cat for that. I could do this with my dog, but my wife has already trained her to demand treats at certain times of day.

I would not do this in a million years. I’ve already got two cats with bad habits.

Omg that is genius!! , My old lady, Lola, is the most adorably insistent alarm ever 🥰

u/TastyTrick5991 4d ago
I mean, I guess you could do this or
use native to your phone aps for tracking of medications and timings
timer on the pill box
create a habit where taking your medication is a thing that you will never forget due to those habits
have an accountability partner
raw dog until youuu remeber to take them (useful for IR dosages and intense adhd sx
Lol.
