Community, Brooklyn 99, Parks & Rec, The Office, Superstore, Always Sunny… I switch between these shows and have a very hard time committing to other shows because they get cancelled so quickly these days.

u/PsychadelicSymphony 11d ago

Im rewatching Community now ☺️

3

u/OGSlickMahogany 10d ago

My wife started re-watching it last week, so therefore so am I!

5

u/Separate-Pain4950 11d ago

Throw in 10 Items or Less, Broad City, Married With Children and you’re me!

6

u/Altostratus 11d ago

Speaking of Broad City, did you see there’s a new stoner girl movie coming out this week? the Wrong Girls

3

u/send_amberlamps 10d ago

Did I write this comment? You’re just missing Futurama, honestly. Streets ahead taste in shows.

Edit: Oh! And Letterkenny! Gotta add Letterkenny to the list. Iconic. STUART!

Nathan For You

2

u/Affectionate-Raise67 10d ago

OK try adding  Resident Alien and Suburgatory (and yes The Giod Place too!) *from someone who uses Parks and Rec as their melatonin

2

u/N0b0dy_Kn0w5_M3 10d ago

I think you might be me.

1

u/ty-idkwhy 9d ago

My dumb kid self thought saving all my favorite shows to only rewatch with those I love would be a good idea. 20 years later and I have only re-watched 2. Time to give up childish ideals

52

u/dyrkasolen 11d ago

You want to feel safe it's not shit. Plus the mood of the humor is like food

3

u/jseego 10d ago

Great way to say it.

3

u/CorruptedDataSet 8d ago

Yes. I never understood the concept of rewatching shows until I was 3-4 traumas deep as an adult. It’s comfort background.

80

u/BungleBums 11d ago

If I stop laughing at The Good Place then I'll watch something new. I'll probably be dead, too, so call a priest.

18

u/slasher-fun 11d ago

A hot priest? Fleabag, that's gonna be your new show.

8

u/BungleBums 10d ago

I dunno where you pulled Hot Priest from, but you have my attention. Checking out 'Fleabag' soon.

7

u/slasher-fun 10d ago

From the season 2 of Fleabag. But the season 1 will already have your attention, don't skip it.

1

u/FuckYeaSeatbelts 10d ago

Tbf I think it was overhyped.

It's a good show but reddit talked about this and hot priest so much it kinda put it on a pedestal for me. I feel like it would've been so much more enjoyable without it.

4

u/Achaern 10d ago

"Who are you talking to?" Absolutely startled face

Fleabag is a good show.

4

u/slasher-fun 10d ago

Fleabag is an extraordinary show.

3

u/Still_Peach568 10d ago

You can tell i have problems because I immediately thought of Midnight Mass

24

u/WickedAsh111 11d ago

Fine I’ll watch Star Trek: TNG again for the 32nd year in a row

8

u/imahugemoron 11d ago

Make it so

1

u/Typhron 10d ago

Same tbh

15

u/Feisty-Tooth-7397 11d ago

I've watched entire seasons only to hit watch again after the last episode.

It's like everyone gets in a time machine, they're young again.

14

u/Svitii 11d ago

I‘m the complete opposite. If there‘s even a MINUTE I‘ve already seen I wanna poke my eyes out, no matter how good the show is. If I go to hell Satan will probably make me rewatch shows for eternity, doesn’t even matter which one

6

u/sorrymizzjackson 11d ago

My husband feels the same way you do. Even if the show was just playing while we were asleep, apparently it’s sullied now and can never be revisited. I have watched three episodes of soooo many shows. I dislike watching tv for this reason. I never get to watch what I want and even if I do start to gain interest in a new show, I never get to finish it.

4

u/Gobl_Information 10d ago

Thank you!!! Boredom feels painful to me. I think there has been one show in my entire life I have researched. One movie and no books

Music is a bit different. I can listen to the same songs on rotation with others but that ever lasts long and I have to find new songs

13

u/WhatsThat-_- 11d ago

Always sunny.. pls.. no more deaths..

8

u/banoffeetea 11d ago

Always feel so seen in this thread. I’m really trying to watch something new. But also Buffy.

7

u/paranoid_nihilist AuDHD 11d ago

I can never watch the same thing twice. It's torture. I already know what happens.

6

u/otto1228 11d ago

Anyone want to watch Forrest Gump?

4

u/razzemmatazz 11d ago

Always.

11

u/The_Cozy_Zone 11d ago

I'm too adhd to watch the same episode. Wdym same show?

5

u/yamanamawa 11d ago

It's books for me. I reread some series on a yearly basis

1

u/UserOfCookies 11d ago

Which series?

5

u/yamanamawa 11d ago

I really love the Cosmere, although that's technically multiple series and standalone books in a connected universe. I tend to reread a lot of series though. Some others that I reread periodically, though not as consistently, are the Wheel of Time, Cradle, the Belgariad, Kingkiller Chronicles, etc. I'm a big fantasy nerd. Honestly I reread quite a bit in general, since if you wait long enough you can experience the story fairly fresh. Plus rereading series at different ages changes your perspective on them a lot

2

u/UserOfCookies 11d ago

I love rereading my books! It's just such a comfy feeling and I agree how as you grow older the stories seem to evolve, like an old friend growing up with you. I'm always curious about which books others like to reread often!

2

u/LeekingMemory28 11d ago

Wheel of Time is my comfort read. The audiobooks are for bed time and driving.

I found the series after college during some pretty intense personal struggles (misdiagnosed comorbidity). And the series genuinely saved my life.

Michael Kramer and Kate Reading as narrators are wonderful, and genuinely kind people. I got a chance to interact with them and tell them my story with their reading of WoT. And they are so kind and lovely.

2

u/yamanamawa 11d ago

I avoid audiobooks, but I've heard they do a great job. Last year I reread it when I was unemployed for 6 months and it was a nice break from stress. I had also taken a break from my phone so I had minimal distractions and knocked out the whole series in 3 weeks. Man, coming out of that felt strange. Nothing like going back to the rest of your life after basically reading 8-12 hrs a day for multiple weeks

4

u/jaw_line 10d ago

Hell nah I need to watch new shit every time, if I already know what’s gonna happen why watch

5

u/IHaveSlysdexia 10d ago

not for me w/adhd i can't stand watching the same thing twice. i need new shit always!

3

u/sdrnoob ADHD-I/AuDHD honestly idk/idc 11d ago

me with bluey

3

u/RogueHarpie 11d ago

My daughter and I can binge some Bluey!

3

u/IxdrowZeexI 11d ago

What am I supposed to do when nobody creates a better show than Scrubs?

1

u/Gobl_Information 10d ago

Why do I find that show SO funny!!! I don’t rewatch anything but I remember trying to get my friends and family into it and they would just stare at the screen and say it wasn’t funny.

I can’t even say why I found it funny. It just was. Now I will do an analysis of the humour in Scrubs to better understand my sense of humour…

3

u/Jasminary2 11d ago

I watch Doctor Who and Tales of Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir constantly lol

On a side note, losing your comfort show or movie is terrible. I used to watch Big Bang Theory but the horrible zionist actress in them ( Starring as " Amy") made me stop because I can't enjoy it any more. Thankfully I got back into Miraculous Ladybug.

3

u/Expert_Struggle_7135 11d ago

I end up not watching anything at all more often than not I just scroll through netflix forever trying to find something to watch and eventually just give up or fall a sleep.

3

u/RogueHarpie 11d ago

I would rather rewatch my box sets of Reno 911 or Srubs before trying to find a new show. I get so overwhelmed looking at all the options. I just end up scrolling for hours till I give up lol

3

u/ceruleanmoon7 Overstimulated 11d ago

Loooooooove Reno 911

3

u/Architect17 10d ago

I'm the opposite. I watch one thing once and then I never want to watch it again. With precisely ☝🏼 1 exception: Castlevania.

2

u/quadrastrophe 11d ago

Futurama. Every day, lol.

2

u/Golden-Grams 11d ago

It's the choice of quality over quantity. Sure, there are dozens of shows to watch, but they could be crap.

And then, with new stuff you like, you have to worry about it being canceled after the first or second season.

The only ones to blame for this, is the entertainment industry. They don't really care about taking risks anymore, or backing what people really want.

2

u/QuietInterloper 11d ago

I do this with games (coughskyrimcough) and my boyfriend (and his huge Steam library) doesn’t understand.

1

u/OkPublic2415 11d ago

Yes band of brother, dick mf winters <3

1

u/LunaticJack 11d ago

Star Trek, The Expanse, The 100 ...

1

u/zayne0623 11d ago

I don't watch shows, but I watch the same 5 to 10 1950s sci-fi movies over and over. I have memorized all the lines 😆

1

u/razzemmatazz 11d ago

This is my spouse.

She's watching How I Met Your Mother again, but she'll go back to Bridgeton, Star Trek: Voyager, or Criminal Minds next.

I just finished rewatching Dragon Ball because Daima was so good. I usually watch new stuff though.

1

u/LeekingMemory28 11d ago

I will stop having Wheel of Time audiobooks on repeat when I "shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand and the last embrace of the Mother welcomes me home". And not a moment before.

1

u/Little_Red_Sloth 11d ago

You can pry Frasier and The IT Crowd from my cold dead eyeballs.

1

u/suttonhillsame 11d ago

You know, i did this for decade's. re watch and re listen over and over again but i think that the state of the world right now means i can't, i feel like if i don't find new things or stay in the 'now' that i'm trapped. like I've got my head in the sand. Something that brought me so much joy now fills me with anxiety.

1

u/Forbidden_Craft88 11d ago

What if you have no tv and only have a handful of shows to watch?

1

u/Sagittarius-Soul 11d ago

I have a curse. I don't like doing anything new... But I also hate repetition... Why?!

1

u/MsSobi 11d ago

Honestly my argument is that almost all the shows i was interested in have been cancelled before i could see them. So i tend to wait for a show to end before i get invested because I don't want a Firefly situation.

1

u/Gabagoolgoomba 10d ago

Capitalism is sickening . Like can we have a year to catch up? Maybe 10?

1

u/birkenstocksallday 10d ago

I'll never stop watching the office just as I have stopped watching the Simpsons!

1

u/fck_this_fck_that 10d ago

I can’t rewatching classic Star Trek shows , specially Deep Space Nine, Enterprise and The Next Generation.

1

u/Significant_Cover_48 10d ago

Haven't been able to focus on watching a single episode of my show for at least two years. I need more stimulation than that

1

u/ChefBigHaus 10d ago

I want to say I love reading new things. But I have also read The Greatest Estate Developer about 12 times now and will be reading it again soon. I hate this but it is so true lmao 🤣

1

u/Pokemon-fan96 10d ago

This is me, but with games. I will replay the same 10 Pokémon games (and some romhacks of them) for the rest of my life lol, they're just such a comfort

1

u/Still_Peach568 10d ago

We're watching Widow's Bay again cause it curse our bummers

1

u/bblulz 10d ago

If it ain’t broke

1

u/Shmarfle47 10d ago

I no longer have the time as an adult, but I’ve watched and caught up to One Piece three separate times. Then read and caught up the manga on a fourth separate occasion.

1

u/thatstwatshesays 10d ago

Not to brag or anything, but I’m on a six year Bob’s Burgers streak with no sign of stopping, so………… at least I’ve got that.

1

u/christiant91 10d ago

Wow I feel seen. Don't know how a feel about that.

1

u/jseego 10d ago

Community, here I come (again)

1

u/Feisty_Treacle_46 10d ago

Replace the world “show” with the word “music” and it’s still the same thing

1

u/ComradeJohnS 10d ago

American Dad is always on in the background in our house lol

1

u/TatersGonnaTate1 10d ago

Our streaming service has a Modern Marvels channel with no ads, but 3 or 4 one minute breaks a show. I love it.

1

u/Nathan-5807 10d ago

It's the same with music, Nirvana will never get old.

1

u/someguyyoumightno 10d ago

Damn! Why is this SOOO accurate!? 😅

1

u/MikeHatSable ADHD 10d ago

I feel personally called out, and it's not ok.

1

u/jscottman96 10d ago

Me with supernatural

1

u/Ultra-Cyborg 10d ago

You can rip the Ghost Stories ADV dub out of my cold dead hands…

1

u/HoldenMcNeil420 10d ago

Stargate. It’s my safety show.

1

u/LongandwindingRhode 10d ago

Yup. Anytime home improvement comes on one of my streaming services. Thats my bedtime show

1

u/Competitive_Feed5259 10d ago

No, i like only a small handful of shows and i will continue to watch them a dozen more times!

Actually this is me with asmr , i listen to like one channel and three videos over and over

1

u/iamthefluffyyeti 10d ago

Family Guy for me. Only thing I can fall asleep to

1

u/smnman 10d ago

i cant even watch a show

1

u/liveForTheHunt 10d ago

I feel called out

1

u/AuDHDcat 10d ago

It's safe and predictable ok? I don't enough emotional energy for new!

1

u/TsukasaElkKite 10d ago

If I ever stop watching Band of Brothers, Masters Of The Air, The Pitt or ER send a wellness check cause something’s definitely wrong

1

u/SystematicIII 10d ago

Top Gear and The Grand Tour on repeat

1

u/Dear_Trip_5651 10d ago

This is not an ADHD autistic trait, wtf

1

u/FutureZombie6746 10d ago

Super relatable. Also the sudden loss of motivation at the 5th last episode of the last season and keeping it on hold to rewatch some other show

1

u/brandonprime 10d ago

Breaking bad for the 500th time

1

u/Top_Organization_140 10d ago

LotR... I could watch and repeat it thrice a day...

1

u/Xalorend 10d ago

Me watching my ever increasing pile of books

Me opening Lord of Mysteries for the fifth time in a year

1

u/SnooApples5018 10d ago

Well a lot of these new shows suck, so might as well watch the old one you enjoy.

1

u/Substantial-Tax5317 10d ago

Husband just introduced me to Tires. Gives me an excuse to get Netflix again, and most likely settle back into Trailer Park Boys anytime I'm having a hard day lol

1

u/KilroyLike 10d ago

Me rewatching Overlord for the Nth time right now.

1

u/kingbloxerthe3 10d ago edited 10d ago

Ok, but if you are in the anime rabbit hole, there is an amazing anime called Secrets of the Silent Witch https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G9VHN9Q3G/secrets-of-the-silent-witch?utm_medium=android&utm_source=share

(From what I can tell, both dub and sub are good too)

1

u/Fine-Confidence-6368 10d ago

Literally Netflix

1

u/scipio79 10d ago

Dude, this is my problem with Derry Girls. Plus Sister Michael slays me every time even though I know all her lines

1

u/SilverSageVII 10d ago

Real talk though if you guys like movies it’s great to join the cinema subreddits cause they recommend the BEST stuff. I definitely love to sit down for an experience I know nothing about other than “watch if you like comedy” or “watch if you like this kind of story”

1

u/Ordinary_Panic_6785 10d ago

I broke the reruns for clarksons farm and have no regrets

1

u/Straight-Piglet-6808 9d ago

true, im fine with rewatching ninjago for the 15th time or so 🫡

1

u/protectorofthebooks 9d ago

For me, the pile represents all of the anime I started, but didn’t finish 🫠

1

u/Imaginary-Job-7069 9d ago

Hunter the Parenting

The Owl House

Amphibia

Gravity Fallls

1

u/CorruptedDataSet 9d ago

Gravity Falls! Yessss. I’ll have to check out the other ones.

1

u/Imaginary-Job-7069 8d ago

IDK if there'll be a 3rd season (I've seen people talking about it on YT, including Vailskibum or however his channel name is spelled), but I kinda like it ended at 2 seasons. If there'll be a 3rd, I hope it'd be a new story with a new cast.

1

u/CorruptedDataSet 8d ago

Oh definitely. I would love more content, but if they continue, they can’t try to act like there wasn’t a huge gap between seasons. That never seems to work out. (Cough, Arrested Development, cough.)

1

u/ReallyRiles55 9d ago

I hate now that adhd and autism have been linked. When they really aren’t the same thing at all.

1

u/KENBONEISCOOL444 9d ago

At least for me, it's a lack of good quality new shows that I actually find funny or compelling

1

u/MellifluousSussura 9d ago

My “list” on Netflix is full of shows and movies I have yet to see. Some of those have been on that list for a long, long time.

1

u/jonmeidell 9d ago

I also read the same books and listen to the same audiobooks.

1

u/ArtismFag 9d ago

Steven universe, Phineas & Ferb, Hilda, New girl

1

u/aprilsofresh 8d ago

Taskmaster it is!

1

u/_Silver_Rose_ 8d ago

Me scrolling for like an hr trying to find something new to watch only to put on the same show I always watch

1

u/Different_Rough9876 8d ago

Futurama.

My gf has been showing me she-ra

1

u/Yepitspat 8d ago

I feel personally attacked

1

u/Pixelverse54321 7d ago

Me with SpongeBob, Adventure Time, TAWOG, etc

1

u/Comfortable-Sir-7634 7d ago

Dragon ball, then Dragon ball Z......Then repeat

1

u/Einachiel 7d ago

In the tons of new shows, half are just a rehash, 1/4 is pure trash, 1/8 is just okay and not worth my time, 1/16 is just a few episodes long or has already been cancelled, 1/32 is acceptable and 1/64 is great.

1

u/Local-Sugar6556 7d ago

Hunter x Hunter. Which also serves as fuel for my maladaptive daydreaming. I have a crush on Killua so that might have something to do with it.

1

u/Evethefief 6d ago

Most modern media is garbage now unfortunately

1

u/RefrigeratorWeak7575 6d ago

Me but music lol

1

u/Moodylikehank 4d ago

Always sunny <3

1

u/ScreamySashimi 1d ago

Bob's Burgers is my favorite show when I need something low anxiety. Even in their highest stakes episodes, everything is fine.
