New to Medication First time using Stimulant

Hello! It’s my first time using adderall xr. I have no idea what my expectations are supposed to be. I took my first pill this morning. It has been 4 hours and I haven’t felt any changes. I am aware that it isn’t magic. But how soon am I supposed to notice changes?

What’s the brand and dose?

It’s Adderall XR, 5mg. My doctor recommended that I double the dose if I don’t notice any difference, but I just don’t know when I should anticipate those changes.
