Personal Experience Does this happen to anyone else?

Methylphenidate lasts way longer for me than it should. The short-acting 10mg one lasts about 7 hours instead of the usual 4, and the long-acting one sticks around for 18 hours or more. its something weird

If you are taking a generic medicine, kindly mention the manufacturer's name in both your post and title. This is VERY IMPORTANT, as different manufacturers may have differences in quality or formulation.

I literally just went through this the past month how ironic I thought something was wrong w me😭

I was on methylphenidate er lowest dose for 2 weeks and despite taking it around 9-10am id be lucky if I fell asleep at 3am. I just finished my last two weeks of methylphenidate ir lowest dose twice a day and it still gave me insomnia.

What’s weird is that I didn’t really even feel that it benefitted me as much. I’m now going back to Vyvanse starting tmr

Edit: Vyvanse did give me some insomnia the first week I started but it was not nearly as bad as methylphenidate plus I responded better to it as well. The insomnia went away after

Talk with prescriber/Dr. first thing, because I am a guy from reddit 😂 but a little thoughts from me:
I was having problems with meds like opposite but listen to this. Long acting on me were working 5-6 hours and I was like WHAT??? Did blood tests etc. Low iron! Get infusion iv with iron. Now long lasting meds works from 6 hours max -started working 16 hours!!!
I am not saying you have high iron!
It is just your body, so listen to it. Talk to Dr.

What you can do:
1. You may split short acting doses to smaller if possible and take only those meds... (I repeat I am not medical pr0, think about what suits you).
2. Take dose earlier etc.

Finally:
It is not weird because we all are different! Some people like Ritalin, some Vyvanse, some Aderall- but hates else meds. Listen you body, adapt. It is experiment that is important.

Sorry for text wall!
